- Awesome looks; great handing and good accelleration
- If you are taller than 5' 10", you probably will not fit in the car
I had been looking for my mid-life crisis 2 seat convertible for several months, when I test drove the left over 2006, 6 speed, candy apple red convertible. Well, they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse and I bought it. It was supposed to be my Las Vegas car and I bought it in North Idaho.....road trip to LV over the 4th of July. The first half through Montana and north Utah with the top down made 26mpg, cruising between 80 and 85mph( always slowed to speed limit through towns and construction zones). The second half to LV with top up and AC going did 28mpg! I am 5' 8" and seating was perfect. If you're much taller you probably won't see the instrument gage well since the stearing wheel does'nt adjust much. The car clings to the road on sharp curves, braking is incredible and acceleration is adequate (6.5 sec to 60mph). Top down at 80mph gives just the perfect wind feel on one's shoulders, so you know your driving a rag-top, not to breezy. Of equal importance, it is about as quiet as a sedan with the roof up, better than any other rag top I tested (Mazda Miata, Honda s200, Boxter, BMW 2.5 and 3.0). Air conditioning works great (117 degrees in LV over the fourth.)
OK, it doesn't have a cup holder. Buy a plastic one for a buck to slide into the window. Field of view is limited in back with the top up. Yeh, well that's true with all 2 seat convertibles. They're meant to driven with the top down! Mine has the basic stereo and it did not seem to like my CDr's but played store bought CD's just fine. You can carry only one passenger, duh! Wait, that's a good thing.
