2008 Chrysler Pacifica User Reviews
Touring AWD shown
- $8,486 - $12,768
- Not too big and not too little
- Transmission clunks when changing gears.
I want to trade in my "05 for an "08 but I'm scared I'll get a lemon. I bought my Pacifica with all the bells and whistles (navigation, DVD, 6-disc cd player, heated seats,etc..) I think my Pacifica is just as luxurious as any foreign car. I really want the dual exhaust but I am very satisfied so far (bought the car in '07)....read morehide

- Average 21 mpg, more room than I can use, I feel like I am in a mercedes.
- Not to quick off the line (but will go if you put the pedal down).
I was looking at Nissan Muranos for ever trying to find the right one and could not find a used one with the features that I wanted. I went to Carmax's website and found this vehicle we immediatly went in and test drove it and bought it that night. We have not had any regrets about purchasing this vehicle. We laugh because we do not have any kids and we kind of felt at first like it was like a mini-van with out the sliding doors. But the more we own it we have accepted that and we love it.
If you have any question about purchasing one of these and haven't test drove one. GO DO IT. I am telling you when you sit in this vehicle you will want one....read morehide

- love the look, ride and just about everything, The cargo area can haul anything
- can't see out of it when pulling forward or backin up
I own a 2004 which has been great but the transmission clunks when putting into gear, accelerating and slowing, worries me alot. my dealer keeps telling me there is nothing wrong but lost the transmission on my winstar with the same symptoms. This car is the best one I ever had, and I have had plenty. I just can't bring myself to trade it in. so why are they discontinuing it???...read morehide

- Great in snow, pretty dependable
- Hard to back up, tranny questionable
I have a 2005 and as far as I can say, this is a really nice car. It handles good, and in the snow, with 4 snow tires on it, I would take it any day over my F150 4X4. This is the best driving car in the snow that I have ever had. It could use some more power, and the tranny seems to shift funny sometimes. I hope it isn't a sign of bad things to come. I've changed the brakes and rotors already, but they seem to be lousy on most cars now adays, with the cheap China steel they use. The worst part of this car is the windows are so high, that it's tough to back up, as it has alot of blind spots.Other than that, I'm real happy with it. Too bad it's not being made anymore....read morehide

- comforatble for a family of 4 for around town, sharp looking & drives well.
- Ave about 18.9 mpg, the brakes needed work at 14000 miles,HORRIBLE to back up
I like the Pacifica it looks nice & drives nice. Love the power hatch it comes in handy at the grocery store. The heated seats are great too.
It is impossible to back up though. I have to open the door sometimes to see how close I am to the cars behind me in tight parking lots. I feel like Ace Ventura at my kids preschool!
It also does not have a lot of storage space even with the third row seats down. Though I do like that the 3rd row has split seats. We have taken it on vacation and it wasn't that bad. I don't think the third row has the latch system for car seats either.
Overall it's ok but I definitly will not be buying it when my lease is up....read morehide

- I average 16.7 mpg around town and 27.8mpg on long road trips.
- No real complaints as yet. I took delivery 03/06/2007.
I am very pleased with the performance, capacities, and in particular with the value per dollar. I really wonder at Chrysler's cancellation of the Pacifica since it was by far the highest rated Chrysler-built vehicle in Consumer Report's tests. The vehicle cost me $80 less than my Town & Country minivan in 1997(which I still have). Both vehicles were factory special-ordered. I live on a hill and we get occzsional snow so I wanted AWD. Street lighting is poor so I wanted discharge head lights. You can't see out the back so I wanted a backup camera
and nav system. Got all those and no moon roof which I didn't want.
I like sirius radio. Audio controls are less easy to use to balance speakers than on '97 van. For the features I wanted it was less expensive than the competition. I particularly appreciate engine smoothness, transmission operation, steering feel, and brake feel....read morehide

- This van, cross over, is just great vehicle, great value
- Havent found any yet, and really dont think we will......
Allways liked the styling of the van, looks good runs good, We bought this because we wanted a van, believe me this is more than a van, its the best bang for the buck out there. I am very impressed with the lay out of the interior, just works great. We have a mentaly handycaped son and the leg room and all of the interior lights at night leaves no dead spots so we can get to him if we need to. I have driven some of the others, and I wasent impressed, but with this van wow, what a difference between them. I really think this is a sleeper in the croee over vans, its just great. Dont know what else to say, I am very happy with this purchase, our van is the Touring edition, with the third row seats, great room, real good power all the nice things, pwr everything. I ask anyone who is looking at crossovers, take a real good look at this one. I will probly say most will buy it just for the money they will save and all of the extras, go check one out and you will also be commenting on this fantastic vehicle, way to go Chrysler!!!!! outstanding vehicle, and Thank You...read morehide

- Good fuel alittle expensive at the pumps
- Love the ride it gives you over bumps.
The brake system is a little uneasy at times. Overall I love my Pacifica! I recently was thinking of trading it for another luxury vehicle but decided my Pacifica has everything with the exception of a navigation system. Place one in the next model and I certainly will upgrade.

- Solid, Dependable, Very Comfortable
- Gas mileage could be a bit better. Missing the Mercedes Benz Emblem!
After five, yes, five, Mercedes Benzes (E, S, SL and two ML's, the last one being a POS), I have to say I have no idea why people are so bamboozled into paying twice and sometimes triple the price for a car when this car has everything. When I first bought this car, after getting out of a dogged ML320, I would have to look down to check the Chrysler emblem on the steering wheel to be sure it didn't have the Benz star there. This truly is a very well-made car (it should be, 80 percent of its parts and all of its design are from MB). I am about to surrender my 05 Pacifica in the coming months for it is coming off lease, and I have to say, I have never, ever entertained buying the same car again until my experience with the Pacifica. I have never once had a problem with this car. It is about to turn 30k, and I have driven it since June of 2005. Solid, solid, solid. I especially love the $20 oil changes! Every time I would bring one of my Benzes in for service, there would be a laundry list of things they JUST HAD to do, and it would cost me $200-$400 depending on the level of service if allegedly NEEDED. What a breath of fresh air with this lovely car....read morehide

- This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Great Storage, fuel etc.
- Could have a little more power
This vehicle is so comfortable, roomy and it has all the storage you could want. Size is great too.
Chrysler did a wonderful job on this vehicle.
