- Pros
- Reliable
- Cons
- Gas mileage could be better

I LOVE my 2010 Classic, which replaced my 2005 Touring model. The '05 was not as reliable as this one, and I drive over 1200 miles within a week monthly to visit family out-of-state, so reliability is important to me. The turning radius is much better (a full 6 foot difference on a u-turn), the sound system is much improved, the gas mileage is better, though still not perfect (I get about 27MPG highway), and it's body style is far from ugly. The always-on traction control is literally a lifesaver when driving in less-than-perfect conditions in the mountains. I love the cargo space when I drop the seats flat, and I like that the new crusiers have smaller blind spots than the older models. It's great to have anchor points for my nephew's car seat, and I love that the back seat splits off-center and gives me options for cargo space while carrying backseat passengers. I wish Chrysler hadn't discontinued the PT Cruiser, because it's all I have ever wanted in a family car and when I have to replace it I will be lost....read morehide

- Maintenance

It was love at first sight for me & my 2004 SeaMist Green PT Cruiser which my husband purchased in 2005 as an anniversary gift against his better judgement. I did not reseach the thousands of dollars it would cost me to maintain a PT Cruiser. The first time I saw the PT I wanted one and was so happy to be the proud owner. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love my car. The nail went into coffin today when I was informed all 4 motor mounts needed to be replaced a cost of around $3,000. and that would not be advisable. I have spent well over $5,000 in repairs and am sick that my dream of keeping my beloved PT Cruiser is not a reality. I went car shopping and will be trading in the PT for a Toyota RAV4.
Shame on Crysler for breaking my heart!...read morehide0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

The PT Cruiser is the best car I've owned. Holds lots of groceries, and it's easy to reach everything. I just love mine and will not be buying any new cars since they discontinued this model.

- Takes wide turns, and blind sides
Purchased As Used
I love my pt cruiser, but 2 things I don't love about
it, it has a horrible blind side. The other is, well how can I say its like a semi when it turns, really
wide. I threaten to put a sign on it, this vehicle makes wide turns. I have been buying chrysler cars for 30 yrs every one I have owned has gotten over 200 thousand miles, the last one I bought before my PT, was a fifth ave I bought it in 1989 with 20th miles on it and sold it four years ago and bought my pt cr. My fifth ave, had over 300, 000 miles on it.HOW ABOUT THAT!...read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Nice styling, good interior room with lots of cargo space with seats removed.
- Cons
- Bit of a stiff ride, no longevity of parts.
Purchased As New
The P/T Cruiser is a NICE car. That's it.
It will deliver good (not great) mileage if you watch how you drive. Drive aggressively and it becomes a gas-guzzler.
The parts used do not last as long as they normally should. For example, I have to change the hub bearings and axles every 55,000 miles, because they wear out. (This is unacceptable.)
The rack and pinion steering went out at 100,000 miles and had to be replaced. ($1,000.00 job.)
Other cars I've owned did not have these failures. So while it's a "nice" car, if you get one new or used KNOW that you are going to spend big money keeping it running for the long term....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Good looks, price is right, comfortable and roomy.
- Cons
- Gas doesn't last long! This is the basic model, and doesn't come with the dual map lights!
Purchased As Used
I bought this car used. it was a rental before and when I bought it it had 26,000 on it. It is a basic 2009 model. So far so good. I love my PT. The two things I am not happy with is the fact that the basic models don't come with the front dual interior reading map lights, and the fuel economy isn't that great!! Overall the PT Cruiser is an awesome car!! Too bad they stopped with the 2010 model. I wish they didn't discontinued it....read morehide

- Pros
- Body Lines
- Cons
- Maybe mileage
Purchased As Used
I have a 2008 Touring model. Best car I have ever owned. Chrysler is making a huge mistake by discontinuing the PT Cruiser...should have just upped the mileage. Have you noticed how a lot of the other makes now have been using some of the Cruisers' body lines?
