- Horrible on gas!
Purchased As Used
I bought this car just a week ago and I'm so happy with it! The seats are SUPER comfortable, love the heated seats and leather! Great car for the the money! Nice driving performace! Super cute; got mine in white. If I could I would live in my car, love, love driving it!! Wish it would be a little better on gas, but otherwise no problems so far! If you are thinking about buying one I would recommend you go for it; you will never find a better value anywhere! GO PT!!!...read morehide

- Everything is horrible! Quality, gas mileage...EVERY SINGLE THING!
Have an 05- limited edition fully loaded.. Has 50,000 miles on it now. Yesterday morning i go to get in it & the battery is dead. Charge the battery all day long & thing still will not work, batteries should last much longer. Fog lights, will not turn off unless the left blinker is on before i turn the car off i have to turn on the blinker or the fog lights will stay on, trying to turn them off manually- steering wheel starts smoking out of the key hole, car is a HUNK OF JUNK!!! I get 16 city and about 24 hwy- IF I'M LUCKY. Sun roof only closes when you play with it a few times, won't close if you do it the correct way.. Starter has been replaced 5 TIMES!!!! Car still doesn't start at times and the starter has to be hit with a metal bar if i want the car to go anywhere! Got into an accident, was sandwiched into between two huge trucks and police officers said airbags should have deployed, call chrysler dealer and they said it should only deploy if you get hit going faster then 60 MPH... this is a safety risk!!! Airbags should deploy anytime you are hit head on! After having it a month, with 300 miles on it- transmission blew leaving me with no car for 2 weeks. IS THIS JUST A "BAD EGG" or all they all like this? I've done my research and found that chrysler is rated one of the worst manufacturers for vehicles! not only that but the pt cruiser is one of the worst cars made 1-10 it is # 7 on the list. i would not recommend this vehicle to a single soul! no one deserves to be driving an unreliable HUNK OF JUNK!!!...read morehide

- Runs great! Low Maintenance!!! Great head room. Love the look, great paint job.
- does not have great pickup, the black bumpers are dull.
I have had mine since 2002. I have enjoyed every thing about it. Never been back for any repairs but basic maintenance. Just changed the battery for the first time! Lasted 6+ years. Looks good. Would buy another one.

- Overall finish and interior trim is well done, turbo engine power moves this car right along.
- Turning radius is not what one would expect from a car of this size.
I have been looking at these cars for years and heard that 2008 was going to be the last year of production, so I decided to get one. I was aware that the power was down on the non-turbo PTs so a Limited in Coast Blue was the only choice.
I find this car very enjoyable to drive and decided to see what the addition of some parts from the MoPar Performance catalogue could do. A change of the electronic control module and different injectors have turned this car into a rocket w/o any significant sacrifice in mileage, which wasn't good to begin with. I don't play with this car on the street very often but it's good to know that a small displacement 4-banger, wrapped in a great body style can still get it on when its called upon to do so....read morehide

- roomy, comfort
- nothing really
I bought my pt cruiser in 2003 and I Love it Still. I can put 3 boys in the back seat one in car seat without a problem. My oldest thought it was ulgy on the outside but cool in the inside. I have close to 100,000 miles and it's still going strong. Drives great in the snow. The only real problem is, it isn't an outside car. I really can't transport a mountain bike or a kayak on the roof....read morehide

- Great price, styling is still unique, comfortable for a small car, fit and finish ok
- nonturbo lethargic, small windshield hampers visibility for tall drivers, gas mileage
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this car. Did not consider Chrysler ever...but upon researching and driving the car I reconsidered. With little demand for this car, I found mine for a great price and fit and finish was surprisingly good. Interior plastics not up to Honda standard, but the car feels solid. For a small car, it is comfotable to drive with the seats at "chair" height and the hatchback offers great utility. For a small car it is comfortable and versatile...
Fuel economy was nowhere as good as expected, however, and the normally aspirated 4 cyl is slow from a standing start. Other than that, there are no other complaints....
I'm enjoying the car.....looks good and a comfortable ride on the highway...
Its seems like its days may be numbered, but this car is unique, I'd hate to see it discontinued, but, I'm glad I bought it.
My intention was to buy a Honda Civic, but for the price...it was too good a deal to pass up....read morehide

- 2007 GT is fast and fun to drive. Seat heighth it perfect for my build. Stability and ride comfor
- Fuel economy is a joke ,needs another gear or 2 in the trans. Poor leather quality
If Chrysler had done a better job on the MPG, I would have given this auto a 5 star rating in value and overall satisfaction. The best MPG that I get in the city is 14mpg and on the highway 20mpg.

- Very sporty, good at cutting corners
- Very little horsepower, comfort isn't that great, wierd styling
The only good things about the PT Cruiser is that it's nice and sporty, and that it has very good handling. But everything else about this car is bad. The PT Cruiser could have more power, it's not so comfortable to drive in, plus it looks really wierd.
And the PT Cruiser is getting old and boring. I heard it's going to get discontinued in either 2009 or 2010....read morehide

- Fuel economy not bad as expected, in line with EPA est, about 19 city and 25 hwy, best of 35MPG
- Can't get comfortable in seats, headrests do not allow sleeping!
Overall, quite pleased, but some quirks. Side mirrors are located way too far back, and require a lot of leaning back and forth to see what's behind you. After three near misses while merging right on a recent trip, I readjusted the mirrors so that they were looking across the next lane, which gives me good awareness of cars along side of me, but not of cars coming up from behind. Chrysler should change this, they could easily mount the mirrors further forward. I am only 6'1". My mileage has finally started to improve after 7,000 miles. I got 35 with my most recent tank with the auto and at freeway speeds. A 5 or six speed automatic or overdrive would be most welcome....read morehide

- Driver seat could use a few more settings adjustments
My '02 is dependable & reliable, responds well, all in a cool package; except I miss my '77 V8 Mustang power.
