The negatives first, this truck suffers from the dreaded blend door problems failing and is a known problem. My fresh air door broke so I no longer have recirc mode and its a very expensive fix.
Fuel mileage is approx 10-12mpg city and get up to 19mpg highway.
Smooth ride for a truck, responsive steering and acceleration with 4.7l engine. Overall pleased....read morehide

I have the Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 diesel - yes it cost more, but at 21 mpg overall (about 19 towing), and the power of the Turbo - its awesome - 0 to 100 mph so quick it will hold you to the seat! While it does cost more, the diesel will pay for itself over time. I have almost 100,000 and have did NOTHING except a new set of tires, oil changes, and fuel filter changes. I even towed a 24 foot U-haul out of a ditch with no problem! Take a close look at the diesel (Cummins 6 cylinder) and weigh the differences! This engine alone will last at least 400 to 500,000 miles. Oh, the 2007 diesels require the new type of diesel that may not be available in all areas!...read morehide

I bought a 2006 "BIG HORN" and it makes you feel as if you were king of the road. It rides great the steering is tight, looks tough like a truck should. Not all smoothed uot and pretty like others. And with the new Hemi the gas milage is fantastic. Don't miss out on the best truck out there....read morehide

Awesome truck. I've owned ford and gmc and this one by far excedes all of my expectations. I do have a small vibration at 60-65 mph but it does disappear once past 65. I replaced all factory stereo equip. with after market stuff. Plenty of room for a family! Get about 14-18 mpg which is what i expected....read morehide

We use our Ram to pull a 33' Travel Trailer all over the east coast and have yet to find a hill too high. We have "beefed" our unit up with a new chip and cold air box to help deliver all the Torq and Horsepower we require. And yes, we also squeeze a super 18mpg (not while towing though) Recommend to everyone!...read morehide

Gas mileage is between 14 & 20, but worth every penny. This is my 2nd Dodge 4X4 in less than 2 years - the 2005 had the engine and trans replaced within 10 months as well as electrical problems with the computer (true lemon). It was purchased back by Dodge and I optioned to give them another chance. It is still a good decision even with the issues I'm having with the 2006 model. Issues: all rotors, back window replaced due to crack in top section of window frame, turning radius isn't the best, but it's workable. The HEMI is a dependable engine and the bolt-on upgrades are inexpensive for the added HP. Probably won't go back with a Dodge, but I'm not convinced yet....read morehide

Lots of room for a tall person. Hemi has lots of power and is great for passing on the highway.

Cons

It is a little hard to park in tight spaces. Hard to judge if you have clearance in the front.

Observed fuel economy is ~12.5 mpg combined, but I do drive a little lead-footed sometimes. Hey, it's hard not to with this great Hemi engine! It seems to do better on the highway when I just set the cruise and let the MDS do its thing. The 20" wheels look sharp and I thought I wouldn't like them until I saw them on the truck. Good-looking overall package. The factory stereo was a notch above a comparable Ford F-150 (and I love Fords!), and that was part of my decision. Factory sound won't blow you away though - the bass is a little flabby at higher volumes - but I am a bit of an audio snob. Auxillary input is great for iPods/mp3 players. Also love the flip-up rear seat and fold-flat load floor. This is a great feature! Lots of room for storage in the center console/arm rest and under the rear seat....read morehide

got a job at gm right out of high school in 1976 bought my frist truck a 1976 chev. have always owned a truck have owned both ford's and chev's never really like a dodge till they made the big body change bought my frist dodge in 1997 the only thing i did not like about that truck was there was no handle to help you get in the truck on the drivers side and if you used the steering wheel after a year or so it broke things in side the colume i look'd at 2004 they add'd the drivers handle and i bought a 2004 i just bought a 2006 trx4 i love this truck i look'd at fords,chev's and gmc's and none of them have the room for a large man as the dodge has i hit my legs get in and out of the ford and had not much leg room..the 2006 rides and handles like a sport's car i still have my 2004 but the 2006 is much tighter truck they just keep make'n it better just can't say enough about the dodge truck you need to check it out the other company's changed there body's to look like a dodge but the have to work on the inside and ride to match it......read morehide

Awesome truck, definately the best looking on the road, does ride a little rough on bumpy roads due to the 20in wheels, but they are worth it. The gas milage is better than my old 03 with the hemi, however it does seem to lack a little of the power. The engine sound is more like a car or SUV than that of the older models, must be the exhaust system. Very happy with the truck...read morehide
