Purchased As New
I bought a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 3.7, regular cab, short bed, 2 wheel drive 6 speed manual brand new. I love this truck. I have put 30,000 miles on it now. The sticker price was $23,000, the sale price was $19,000, there was a $6,000 rebate, or discount so I got the truck for $13,900 brand new + tax, tags, and title. The door speakers died, then the parking brake release handle broke. I took it in and had them replaced under warranty. I had also got a letter saying there was a recall on the speakers. I did have one serious problem at 24,000 miles. It threw the serpentine belt, and I parked it and found the pulley on the water pump was wobbly. They replaced the water pump and belt under warranty, but I was surprised that something like that could happen at only 24,000 miles. It is a base model, except it does have chrome bumpers and grill. I prefer the vinyl seats and rubber floor that it has, over the more expensive cloth seats and carpet option, which is harder to clean. The one thing I would change, would have been to get the 3.92 Rear Axle Ratio with Anti-Spin Differential, it's a $375 option, that would have been well worth it in my opinion. I really love the looks of the truck, and the way it drives and rides. I plan to get 10 years out of it, then get a new 2017 Dodge Ram 1500.
