- Fuel economy is incredible... coming from using domestic vans this is terriffic!
- Cons, very few options available from the factory, dealers or aftermarket currently.
Important: Some of these vans have come with the problem of stalling while in gear at a stop. Our first sprinter van did this, the dealer had it for over 3 weeks without being able to diagnose...they worked with the sprinter engineers and specialists from Germany AND California.
Net result: Buyback! The manufacturer backed their product! Unbelievable, I had been up against GM under the lemon law before. I will buy Mercedes again even if they are triple the cost of a GM!
Anyhow, the replacement Sprinter van has worked flawlessly for over 10K miles now. We are a distributor and tend to load the vehicle down sometimes beyond the suggested limit. Plenty of power, awsome fuel economy, good looks and comfortable (fun) to drive. These vans make the delivery day easy. We did look at the Freightliner version but saved $$ by going Dodge. We then converted the van over to a true Mercedes by purchasing a grill/badge kit. Personally a point of pride for our employees and to honor the true bloodline of Mercedes.
Keep in mind that some of the toughest fleets are now using these vans domestically. FEDEX and other freight companies have taken advantage of the economies of these vehicles in their fleet. We will continue to add these to ours also. 2007 will offer new styling and many more roof/vehicle options... google 2007 sprinter to check them out....read morehide

- Most useable comercial Van in the WORLD! Best MPG IN CLASS!
- NOT CHEAP! Should come with BENZ name plate!
I am impressed! I love it! I am 6.3 and I can walk trough my Van! ,Domestic Vans In your dreams, as soon as you get close you can see quality, perfect fit in finish, you know its made in Germany! Now 2005 this vehicle 20 years ahead of anything that comes from Detroit in this class, and funny thing is, this Van vas designed in late 80' , First was produced in 1992, same as today! The best feature is pleanty of power and still 25+ MPG in 3/4 ton commercial van! (if you are sensible driver) Detroit comercial vans, well again if you are sensible driver you might get 11-12 MPG .
SIMPLE THE BEST VEHICLE IN ITS CLASS!...read morehide

- What to say...it's a Mercedes
- Cheap Sound system
After putting up with all kind of disappointments with Ford vans, I decided to look closer at the Sprinter. I liked what I found. Completely made in Germany, shipped to the US with engine and transmission removed and reassembled by Dodge. (to keep the union boys at dodge smiling). Everywhere you lok, you will find the Star, even on the key....
I am driving the Star for years privately and appreciate and know the German craftsmen ship. Ford, Chevy, GM....whatever I tried, lasted at the most 100.000 miles. The latest Ford E250 models had the paint peeling of the bumpers after only one year.
This Sprinter has an amazing Torque. Only a little pressure on the gas pedal and it takes off. The steering is as precise as in my sedan, the transmission shifts in perfect accordance with the needed power demand and the rpm of the engine. Well worth paying the additional 6-7K compares to regular Vans. My other 4 Vans are going 10.5 mpg, the Sprinter goes 22 mpg. Not to talk about the maintenance cost, which are also lower. Paying some more upfront was a no brainer for me.
The look.... looks different, more European...change is good....read morehide
