Purchased As Not Purchased
I rented this for a week, because it was the only sedan the rental company had available. This thing only had 14k miles on it, but it made some funny noises. There is a HUGE blind spot that makes changing lanes hazardous. It was difficult to get the blinker to stay on. The acceleration was really awful, but I'm not sure if they do something special to rentals that makes it harder to accelerate. The car was fairly comfortable to sit in, and steer, but it made some really weird clunking noises, and occasional squealing from the wheels (It's not like I was peeling out or anything). After driving a few blocks, it smelled "hot" (as in it gave off a slight burning plastic smell - and no, I made sure the parking brake wasn't on - whereas, the 94 corolla following me at the same speed didn't). It didn't look like it had been in any sort of accident or anything, but I have no idea since it was a rental. I'm definitely not a car expert, but this is not something I would expect to last more than 50k miles or so.
But again, the worst part about this car is the horrible blind spot. I was actually afraid to pass people on the freeway.
