I rented this Dodge for a 2 week span and was mystified as to why so many car magazine reporters dislike it and give it so-so reviews. It did it's job exceptionally well and was quite comfortable, roomy for its exterior size, and mechanically, performed with no problems or quirks, and reasonable economy. I much prefer the styling of the Avenger to that of its cousin under the skin Chrysler Sebring. It looks quite a bit like a 3/8 scale Charger, and actually, with its more compact dimensions, to me, looks a little better proportioned than the Charger. The build quality on this particular car showed no glaring faults, and overall, was a pleasing package. The trunk seemed to hold more than you would expect just by looking at it as well. Too bad Dodge didn't make these in a coupe version, would have been a sharp looking little car.
