ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CAR. If you consider yourself a smart consumer, DO NOT under any circumstances bu this vehicle. It runs, drives and feels like a tin can piece of garbage. Gas mileage is awful it gets about the same mileage per tank that my previous 6 cylinder car.
I called the dealership 3 days after I bought this hunk of garbage, for them not to return my phone calls (yes plural, several calls). Awful. Once they got me into the car and the deal was made, satisfaction meant nothing. I have owned many different vehicles in my life, but, this by far is the absolute worst decision I have every made. I couldn't give the actual rating I wanted on this vehicle because the choices only went as low as poor.

I bought this car new. Within months after buying it the heater core went out and had to get a new one put in. The minute after driving off the lot I knew that I didnt like the car. I have tried 2 times to get rid of it and even was willing to go to an older car just to get rid of it. But I couldnt afford to put another down payment on another one. I do not recommend this car to anyone. I am very dissatisfied and would never buy another one. This car has been the biggest headache I have ever had. I cant wait to get rid of it....read morehide

Not able to check tranny fluid on the 6 speed automatic

I bought mine new. love the looks and the fuel economy, seats are comfortable, I have a bad back and it has good support. I have over 9k on it, no issues at all. The six speed is different than I am used to, but no issued noticed, just wish I could check the fluid( no dipstick). Fuel mileage is as good as sticker said, better at times. I average 27 to 29 combo, mostly city. 31 to 35 hwy. Great sound system as well...read morehide

I bought my dodge avenger June2012 & it has the worst odor I can't stand to stay in it . So it sits under my car port. I've taken it back twice & they say it's a new car smell. It smells like mold . Everyone else that smells it agrees with me except the dealership. Otherwise I love the car. The smell makes my eyes & sinus burn. It's extremely strong smell. My husband asked them to let us smell a couple of the other cars on the lot & they all have same smell. Very unhappy with it. It doesn't get the gas milage on the sticker either....read morehide

I bought this 2012 Avenger in Feb. Nice ride and handling. Gets great gas mileage at 30 hwy. I drive about 60 miles per day to work and back. I have complained a couple times about the trans shuttering going up hills and not shifting good. The dealer keeps saying everything is fine with it. Left work the other day and the trans would not shift at all. I stopped and turned off the motor to call a tow truck and decided to try it again and it shifted good. Not sure I can trust it now. I have had this car for two years. Bought it with 14 miles on it. My husband convinced me to buy a Dodge so that it could be worked on locally if necessary. Had the car for one year and the back passenger wheel bearing went out. Warranty covered it, but was surprised that it had this issue. This week I had the driver side back wheel bearing go out. Again surprised as the car is only 2 years old. Now out of warranty...not a happy person about this. And everytime I take it to get the oil changed there is something wrong with it...spark plugs need changed ($100)...oil pan has a leak. I drive 30 highway miles to work and need a car that is reliable and safe. Do not feel that Dodge put their best effort into this car. Very disappointed!...read morehide

I bought this for $16,995.00 plus tax, title, & license. It rides well, looks great, has nice pick-up, and gets decent gas mileage. I took my first long road trip in it (New Orleans to New York City to Philadelphia to Baltimore to New Orleans), and it was quite pleasant to drive. It averaged 32 miles per gallon.
