I have had my avenger sxt v6 for a week and I love it. I got the v6 with the navigation and 6.5 inch touchscreen. The acceleration for the v6 is great. I have been driving 4 bangers for the past 7 years and wanted to get a v6. The ride on this car is great, suspension take bumps in the road good, and there is no rattling in any part of the car when going over rough roads. The navigation system is nice, this is my first navigation system so I can't compare from any competitors. But it is functionable for me, and comes with a 20 gb hard drive to store songs, it also doubles as a dvd player so you can play a movie. As for the blind spots I have heard many people refer to, I specifically looked for them during the test drive, but I found them about the same as any car, if you know how to drive using the mirrors to minimize any blind spots. I was able to manuever between traffic lanes on the highway doing 70 mph on a 6 lane freeway with no problems. The trick is you have to position the side view mirrors in the position to minimize the blind spot, so by the time the car gets to the blind spot, you will be able to see some part of the car in another mirror or window. I can personally say that the blind spot issue was a non issue for me. The only problem I have with this car is that many of the car reviews have negative things on this car because it is a Chrysler product, and compare the avenger to a high end sedan. I traded in a 2011 Ford Fusion for this car and I can say this car is better, handles better, and feels better to drive. I do experience some torque steer when accelerating hard, but with front wheel drive and 283 hp, that should be expected. The back seats do feel a little bit cramped, but driver and passenger leg and head room is great, and I am 6'1" and 275. I did not test drive the 2.4 version, because I knew I wanted a v6, but I have heard it can be slow. I would suggest those of you who are looking at this car, test drive the v6 and you will not be disappointed, I am getting 20 mpg city, and 30 on hwy, compared to 23/33 with my trade in. I will take 3 mpg loss to gain 115 hp....read morehide

I love my car. I felt at home in it form the minute I got behind the wheel for the test drive. I have had no problems with it at this point, it only has just under 3000 miles. It feels "sold" when you are driving. It holds the road well. I'm glad I bought it and have no complaints atg all....read morehide

- SHaky Acceleration, hesitant to start on cold days and battery cell was bad out of the manufacturer
Purchased As New
I bought my Avenger brand new. I do love the new updated style. I love the hands free blue tooth and the steering wheel controls. The one year of free satellite is awesome. I have the baseball stitching throughout the interior and I like it. I have 3 kids and all fit comfortably in the back seat. My husband is 6' 1" and he has plenty of leg room while driving or being a passenger. I like that the color options for the car are unique. I actually don't like that the middle back seat has an arm rest that comes down and opens directly into the trunk. We go fishin a lot and the kids open it and grab the poles. The acceleration on this car is hesitant at times and kicks in at the weirdest times. The car isnt to big or too small. I did have a bad battery cell from the manufacturer but I called towing assistance from my cars bluetooth and they came and took care of it right away. Overall I love my car!...read morehide

other than the blind spots it a great car i have over 16,000 miles on it and havnt had any mechanical issues at all only trim issues. ive gotten use to the blind spots by compensating for them. i rented a four cyl and found it to small of an engine for this size car so i bought the six and well worth it. i would have bought the sxt plus but my wife didnt like the red clolor of the seats. over all its very nice car....read morehide

- Cons
- Odd Acceleration, Poor performance.

I had this car as a rental for a month and a half. I wonder if the people who praised this car’s performance have ever driven anything else. I don’t know if it had to do with a lack of engine Torque or odd gearing ratios in the transmission, but there is very little response to moderate pushes on the accelerator: I Push on it, nothing happens, push a little more, still nothing until I have the pedal almost to the floor and it drops a couple gears so that the engine is screaming shaking the car, and it finally accelerates (although still not impressively), I also agree with other reviews about the poor visibility.
The only other car in the mid-sized sedan class that I have experience with is is my wife’s Honda Accord, which kicks the teeth out of this thing in terms of both performance and gas mileage. I can’t speak to the reliability since I only had if for a month and a half.
Maybe If I were 90 years old and just wanted something comfortable to get from the grocery store to my house without having to take any on-ramps to merge onto the highway, I’d buy one....read morehide2 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

Overall, a great car for the price. The base 2.4 L 4 cylinder is powerful enough for me at an impressive 173 hp. the fuel mileage is good with me getting 30 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city. Interior has plenty of room for my family of four and plenty of storage space in the trunk. Sporty looking car that is enjoyable to drive....read morehide

Going from an SUV to a car I had fears of giving up some power but the 6cyl gives me more than what I had before. For the price, look and gas mileage I am very satisfied with the vehicle. A co-worker bought one 6 months before me and his was fully loaded and when we switched cars for a day I fell in love with it and bought one just without all the bells and whistles....read morehide
