Purchased As Used
I purchased my 2007 Dodge Caliber October of 2010. At first I loved the car and it seemed to do very well in all aspects. However now that I've had the car for 2 years it seems it is all falling apart at once.
Early this year I had to put new ball joints on- not too big of a deal considering that was the only thing that had gone wrong with the vehicle in the entirety of the time I had had it so far.
I've taken extremely good care of this vehicle. Granted I have put quite a few miles on it since I got it, but still it does not account for everything that is falling apart now.
All was going fine until about a month ago. When I was going over bumpy roads or pulling in and out of my driveway I noticed a groaning and squeaking noise coming from underneath my car. I went and had it looked at and was told it was my struts- $600 to fix.
A couple months later there was a whining noise coming from my transmission. Needs a new transmission.
Not even a week later I get this clicking noise in my tensioner.
Got a new tensioner.
Found out it wasn't the tensioner, my entire alternator needed replaced. Needs a new alternator.
Have a new grinding noise underneath my car. Got it looked at- needs new lower control arms.
There is a loud squeak whenever I brake. Got it looked at- needs new calipers and new brakes.
Are you freaking kidding me? I love my car but this is a huge pain in the butt. I would have gotten rid of it by now, but since I can't afford to get the repairs done I am considered upside down on my loan because I still owe about $5k and my car is worth next to nothing with all the repairs that need done.
How is there not a recall on this car? I feel victimized.
