- Gas mailage was good, good interior design.
- Too many of blind spots. This car is dangerous!
I did not care for the looks of the car, but I have to say it was nice to drive. It handled well, had good acceleration, and the interior was better than average. The gas mileage was better than I expected, and I liked the Cruise Control. The car had many positives, but the blind spots were so bad that I have to give it a bad score. When driving this car you find yourself moving your head all over to ensure the way is clear, or to find the road in a turn. Backing up in a busy parking lot is a challenge also....read morehide

- It starts up and gets down the road. It's real cheap.
- Rock hard arm rests. Stagecoach suspension. Gutless engine. Bad seats.
No car company is doing a better job of selling Japanese cars than the Chrysler group. All you have to do is rent one of these Dodge vehicles for a week and it's easy to see why they continue to lose market share. The extremely rapid depreciation rate for these cars is well justified.

Overall interior design and function are great for me. I do home healthcare and it works perfectly. I enjoy having the 4 doors and hatchback. I feel I get the functional use of an SUV in a small car. Many people have complained of problems with visibility. I actually have a visual impairment and have found this not to be the case.
The car hugs the road well. I can feel the road, but not to the point of an uncomfortable experience. I do feel like I am filling the gas tank more frequently compared to my other vehicle. The tank is 13.6 gallons. This will only give me about 340 miles. I love the style and exterior design of the car. I have wheels v. hub caps. Much better do not have to worry about loosing them. The car has a great stereo for my needs. I can have a booming bass or more of a nuetral sound with more treble. There is a built in cooler in the glove box when the car is on and running. Keeps things cool inside. Anti theft system came with the car. The car I had before had the antitheft system installed at a later date and caused all kinds of electrical issues down the road. I like the feel of the transmission. I do not have a heavy foot on the gas pedal and I do not expect the car to accelerate at a high rate of speed in one tenth of a second so it works for me. I do find on steep hills the car does roll backwards my other car did not do this. Overall....I love the car!...read morehide

- Gas was great, Comfortable, controls well placed.
- None really, shouldn't expect a race car with 4cyl.
I'm 6'5, 220lbs. Rented car in Vegas, drove around for 2 days. Road trip to Phoenix, AZ. Great gas mpg, able to pass several big trucks on two lane roads. Comfortable enough to drive it over ford Taurus which friend rented. Rent it for a weekend before you buy. Big rental fleet car. Can be had for 50$ for a weekend. Not a bad investment before buying. You'll be surprised....read morehide

- Roomy interior, strong stereo
- Poor fuel economy, unstable ride with wind, slow as granny, blind spots, ugly
I rented this car last weekend on a drive from Atlanta, GA to Charleston, SC. I rented because my car has high miles on it. I always try to give American cars a chance since I drive a Honda and am admittedly impartial to Japenese and select German cars. I was impressed with how roomy this car is and how strong the stereo was. However, I was very disappointed with the gas mileage. I couldn't make it on a 4.5 hour drive from Atlanta to Charleston on 1 tank of Gas!!!! Had I driven my Accord, historically, I would have had more than 1/4 of a tank of gas when I arrived in Charleston. The gas tank is too small and the mileage is not good enough on the Caliber. I read the reviews on here praising the gas mileage of the Caliber. What, are you kidding me? I'm sorry, Honda's gas mileage must have spoiled me because I was not impressed by the Caliber. Dodge is going to have to step up if it wants to compete with the quality of popular Japenese cars in this segment. Second. The headrest are too high for good visibility. This car was not designed well for lane changing and/or passing. SCARY! Lastly, a little wind and this car is blown all over the highway. I felt very unsafe as I was blown from side to side down I-20 and I-26. All I kept thinking is how much better my Accord drives, performs and handles and how I wish I had driven it despite it having high miles. Overall, I was not impressed with this car at all. I know my Accord cost more, but it's 10 years old and out performs a brand new Caliber...sad! This may be a good first car for a beginner but that's it. It's not very attractive looking either. I felt like a soccer mom in this car. Yuck!...read morehide

- GOOD FUEL ECONOMY
- THIS CAR IS EXEMPALRY FOR THOSE LOOKING TO PURCHASE A 'BULKY' AND NOT THE 'BULKY' PRICES OF AN SUV.
SOME SAY THAT THIS CAR IS BAD ON THE BLIND SPOTS. WELL, IF YOU ADJUST YOUR REAR MIRRORS, THERE'S NO NEED FOR SIDE MIRROR VIEWING. THIS IS AMAZING!!!! TO NOW DRIVE A CAR JUST BY LOOKING AT REAR MIRRORS. INSTEAD OF EXPECTED SIDE VIEWING. ANYWAY, THIS CAR IS DODGE'S BEST AFFORDABLE, MINI SUV TYPE, YET.
GETTING A CAR IS AN INVESTMENT. ONE SHOLUD GET A CAR THAT IS AFFORDABLE AND MAKE YOU ACHIEVE THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE BASE ON YOUR DRVING STYLE.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK-DODGE!!!!!
HANDS DOWN, DODGE MAKES A STRONG VECHICLES. ALL DODGE LINES/CARS HANDLE THE ROAD WITH THE CONFIDENCE OF SAFETY. SAFETY-HUM? REASONS ON GETTING A CAR ANYWAY....read morehide

- great fuel economy, nice ride, good pep.
- The tires scream! I don't recommend upgrading them, cause it sounds awesome.
This is a great car for frugal people, like me. The car rides nicely, looks great, and is peppy. The four cylinder is quiet and fuel efficent. Surprisingly, there is enough room to seat five adults comfortably. I love my Caliber!

- Good MPG, Nice looking, Aux jack on stereo for IPOD, Fun to drive
- Ride is loud and rough on worn roads otherwise ride is good.
I Was looking for a cheap priced economy car for long comutes and am happy with the Caliber. I got the SE plus for $11,000 and nothing else in that price range came close to the value. Great looks, "17 tires on aluminum rims, and A.C. A smooth running and shifting drivetrain. 30 MPG! Easy to wash. A nice stereo. Rear wiper drives great in the rain. The other cars I considered were the Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus and the Honda Civic, They all ran about $4,000-$5,000 more for the same options. Did I mention the LIFETIME engine and transmission warranty!!! Drive it like you stole it! Just Kidding : )...read morehide

- Ride is rough, poor gas mileage, huge blind spots
Why do people buy this car? I rented this car a few months ago, and it is one of the worst cars I have driven. I never felt safe while driving because of the blind spots... Also, acceleration is average, gas mileage was average to poor, and the ride was so rough. Look at the Corolla or Civic, IMO....read morehide
