Purchased As New
I sold my 70 GTX to obtain an 09 SRT8 in June of 09 and haven't regreted it once. Talk about a well refined american car. I was worried that the value would decline fast( hence , always buying old muscle to keep the value up) but it is keeping its value pretty good. If you own or plan on purchasing a SRT8 the brake dust on the wheels will drive you nuts. Replace the pads right away with Hawk ceramic pads and the problem goes away. Other than that no mechanical issues.
Cosmetic issue is the passenger side airbag cover on the dash shrinking a little. Called Chrysler and my dealer and they are both looking at a permanent fix before replacing the dash pad. Other than that everything is great. Nice leather seats, muscle dash layout and a massive amount of electronics and sound to wow you.
The power is kick. I turned a 12.80 quarter in the GTX and this Challenger seems to be right with it. I haven't tested it yet with the performance guage but I will. I have tested 0-60 and it was at 5.20 with tire spin.
Trans is a 6-speed and shifts smoothly with short throws. It has that 1st to 4th gas saver shift built into it while giving very little acceleration, but you can buy a bypass for that for around twenty bucks.
