- Decent fuel economy for it's size and with a Hemi. Comfy and good looking in and out.
- Running boards are a must. Cruise control won't go over 95mph.
My first Durango was a 2000 Sport 4x4 with a 4.7 V-8. Great truck! As nice as it was it did ride kind of like a truck, but not bad. This new Durango is a 2004 SLT 4x4 with the Hemi. The new one rides as smooth as silk. Took it from NY to Florida, and it was as comfortable as anything I've ever taken on a long trip. Fuel economy was not as bad as I expected. But to be as comfortable as we were, and to have that much sheetmetal surrounding you, the fuel bills were acceptable. It is a little tougher to get in and out without running boards. The only major complaint I have is that the cruise control won't set for anything higher than 95. Do you really need it to hold the speed that high? Probably not, that's just me.
