- known product its not a new line
Purchased As Used
Just purchased a 2005 to replace my 1999. I wanted a reliable and comfortable vehicle to tow our 25 foot camping trailer and to travel long distance with our two kids in the back. the built in DVD player is a must. handling is vastly improved, as is gas mileage and comfort. not to keen on the simulated wood on the dash but other wise it is fine. in compairison to our old durango this is a much better vehicle...read morehide

- Great turning, stopping, ride, comfort, handling.
- Running board too wide make getting out awkward.
2005 model purchased as second owner in 2005.
I have owned several other smaller SUV. This one has it all. The size just doesn't feel big. It feels like a 5 seater SUV. I love looking at it, driving it, washing it, and packing in the family.

- More room than I can use, good gas mileage on the highway
- Noisy - rattles, grinds and squeeks
I have the silver one - a good color for Texas summers. The AC is great, as is the heater. But at 15,000 I'm afraid it is about to come apart. The frint end makes so much noise all the dogs and cats run away as I drive up the street (of course it won't do this at the dealer). The driver's side power window is failing, the transmission is sluggish and no amount of tune-ups will stop it from 'misssing'. Last week it surged at a stoplight - foot on break and the engine raced and tried to drive throught the light (again - nothing found by dealer). On the brighter side - it gets good gas mileage on the highway, hold tons of stuff and sits high enough that you can feel right at home with the other big 'uns. Next month it's going to be traded - I'm afraid to keep it longer, too many tings are starting to go wrong....read morehide

- Great value, especially with current rebate offers
- Rear visibility
After owning a 2002 Durango, I decided long ago to venture elsewhere for my next SUV. Luckily, I test drove the new 2005 Durango last week, and did it ever convince me to stay! This vehicle is a huge improvement over the old model - not just in appearance, but in almost every way. With the current rebates offered by Dodge, you'd be hard pressed to find a new SUV that compares. I went with the optional VES (video entertainment system) that includes two sets of wireless headphones; my kids love it. The free year of Sirius satellite radio is a nice benefit, as well as the 6-cd in-dash unit. Perhaps what stands out most is the improved ride - clearly better than the old model. Test drive this vehicle - check to see if the rebates are still available, and you'll have to consider this vehicle!...read morehide
