- front seats/telescoping steering wheel do not work properly
Purchased As New
On 25 May 2012 my wife and I go to pick up our custom built 2012 Dodge Durango Citadel AWD. We finish with finance and we are super excited to finally drive our new Durango. The easy exit seats are set so the drivers seat goes all the way back and the steering wheel goes all the way in when you exit the vehicle. My wife gets in and the front seats and the telescoping steering wheel are not working. So we bring it to the shop at the dealership and they claim to have fixed it by resetting the computer. We go home happy we have a new car. My wife then goes to the grocery store with a friend and the seats and steering wheel do not work again. My wife's friend is taller so she drives the car back. As they are driving back the drivers seat and the steering wheel start moving on its own. So the next day we bring it back to the car dealership and they fix it again by replacing the main sensor that controls the front seats. Everything is working fine until later that night we are about to go to my wifes high school reunion and the seats and steering wheel DO NOT work again. After an hour of sitting in the vehicle trying to figure out what we are doing wrong by using the owners manual we are about to give up and the drivings seat and steering wheel begin moving on their own. I'm furious because we purchased this $43K+ Dodge Durango Citadel AWD and the seats and steering wheel do not work when they are suppose too. This has totally ruined our experience of buying a new car. My wife is super upset which is making me upset because i purchased this car for her and my children. I'm furious because these faults with the car could endanger my families life!!! It's Memorial Day weekend and we cant get anything done until Tuesday. Dodge you need to fix this problem asap!...read morehide

I went from a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad-Cab to the 2012 Durango and couldn't be happier. Went from a good ride to a very good ride. Handles well, strong, solid, comfortable, very good looking SUV. Well-equipped for a base model. Very highly recommended to anyone looking for a full-size SUV.

Purchased my Redline R/T a few weeks ago. My wife likes it because of it's excellent visibility and I like it because it feels very controlled at any speed. We have 2 dogs, an elderly father and 2 young adult over 6' tall sons, and we went on a trip with all of us and our luggage and no one was uncomfortable....read morehide

Love this New Dodge! Drives like a race car, very tight powerful feel when driving it. Looks great! My family recently took a trip for 10 hours and everyone said the ride was great. We had 7 in the vehicle and everyone had enough room to enjoy the long drive. I would say, if you are looking for an SUV check out the new Durango it is..........Awesome!...read morehide

- Cons
- gas milage for 6cyl., however the 6cyl does perform well.

I the past i had refused to buy from dodge. they just made very cheap cars, and i hate hard plastics(ie dash,doorpanels,..etc). but i thought i would take a look at the durango because of price and size. i was amazed how good the quality of the interior materials were and i loved how roomy it is all the way to the 3-row. i visited all the competition and came back to the durango twice. I guess fiat has increase the dodge quality standard... i like it....read morehide

- Pros
- Spacious, comfortable, good acceleration and braking.
- Cons
- Very sensitive steering and gas pedal.
Purchased As New
The 6 cylinder engine has plenty of power. Driver position is excellent. The steering is too sensitive and over steering becomes a problem especially at higher speeds.
The accelerator is also very sensitive and you find your speed starts to creep up well over the posted speed. I found it necessary to use the auto speed control to prevent going over the speed limit unintentionally....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Looks, trim, ride and perfect size
- Cons
- No front sensors
Purchased As New
No front sensors, what! I almost ran into my SRT-10 trying to trip the sensors. Opps, when and I looked the bumper and none are there. Kinda bothers me since it has more stuff in it then my CL-65.
Good news is I have had two Gen1 (last one was an R/T). I like the mean look and size of them, but such a nasty ride and they rolled and bounced all over the road. The Durango I test drove was an R/T. It handled well and no roll, but the ride was not as comfortable as I would have like and the exhaust was as loud as our old R/T. The wife hated the red R/T on the front seats and I had to agree. We go back to the showroom with the sales guy and talked about this ugly red R/T on the seats and asked what else. He told us to turn around and there was this Molden Red Citadel on top of us! The wife and I looked at it and I was sold, the Wife was happy until see seen the price sticker and almost fell to the floor. I had been trying to get her in to a GL450 and this was 2/3 the price so I was happy. Everything inside says Benz, detail, fit and feel there is nothing cheap inside and the outside is awesome other then maybe a little too much chrome, but the Wife likes it so no beef on my part. What I like maybe most it get the frame from Benz ML class. After talking to the Wife about the price and her talking to the Sales guy for 4 hours and I am hot now, I go in see what I want and go drive it in as little time as possible. We buy and we both drive home in two cars. I ask her how she likes it and she gives me a kiss. She said it drives smoother then the Gen3 R/T we drove and likes the steering better. She tell me to take it out for a spin and it maybe your last time other then long trips. Her car no big deal is what I thought. I light up the Hemi and want to go out and see what the girl can do. I never got to do it. I was so impressed how the Citadel rides, what is inside for comfort. I felt I was in my CL65, but just setting higher. I finally get back home after three hours playing with all the toys and she is trying not to be hot, but it showed with the remark "you buy me a car and spend more time in it then I have." I sneak her now and take the CUV/SUV thing more the latter to get a wash every week, I do not do it more or she may think I like driving it more then having her ride pretty. It is a beautiful vehicle, yet mean enough for Men to drive. There are some vehicles I would never drive and this is not one of them. This is between small CUV and truck SUV, it fits my life and loving it. BTW, I have two sets of Grand Kids and the Wife is not a Soccer Mom, but she fills up the Citadel many times with kids and it works. Dang, she will not let me tow with it. The Bass tour I fish a CUV/SUV is a better choice then a truck as long it can tow a heavy Bass boat. The Citadel AWD can. If I keep fishing and go beyond local tournaments I need one since the Wife says leave my car lone!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
