2008 Dodge Grand Caravan User Reviews

- Great up to the point of 15k miles!!
- Brakes and Rotor!!
The vehicle has been great up to 15k miles. At that point there was a squeek on the brakes. In checking it out the brake pad was gone and eating into the rotor. I took to Dodge and they said, "oh that is normal"!! So does this sould like a reliable vehicle??

- Excellent fuel mileage for mini. Plenty of room for family. Great for in town & distance travel.
- C.D. sometimes doesn't eject. Driver's power seat challenge to adjust.
Have over 25,000 miles with very good performance and reliability.
The seat covering and interior are very easy to clean.
The second tier windows work like a regular car or SUV -- great addition.
The engine performs well at both sea level and high altitude. Gas mileage for a minivan is the best of its class.
Doesn't look so much like a minivan and more for buck than Crossover....read morehide

- Very comfortable ride, Awesome look, stow&go is a phenomenal feature, price is fantastic
- Axle is squeaky, no rear climate control,
I've had this car on lease for one year and its been very good to me. Takes me and my family of 5 around with ease. The stow and go feature is amazing. Very easy to put the seats down into the floor and lift them back up. The actual look of the van is great, going back to the old retro trim lines was a great idea. It drives smooth.
The gas mileage is okay, not amazing.
I hate the fact you have to purchase the DVD system in order to benefit from the rear camera feature and rear climate control. I think thats lame.
Overall, great van for the price!...read morehide

- Seats fold down for large cargo space, seat material is spill-resistant
- Hard to corner with at high speeds, passenger side automatic door wouldn't close
A nice family car, rides well except for cornering at higher speeds. Passenger side aotomatic side door required a firmware download to make it close. Our options include stowaway seats which fold down nicely for lots of storage. A nice all-round vehicle, so far!

- Nice ride, remote doors, Sat Radio, roomy, decent MPG for V-6
- Interior parts, wind noise, no sunroof without buying leather package
This is our 1st MiniVan and what a shock it was to be comfortable and still feel stylish (bought a black one with the tint windows/dark interior). The SXT is worth the extra cost and the dark interior was a great choice considering all of the traffic on the carpets and seats.
Must have the remote doors and the light system in the front/rear.
The Van averages 23 MPG on freeway and 55 or 75 MPH. The 3-way climate controls are great, but the rear is hard to cool my littlest child since the head liner is far away (plus for taller people sitting in 2nd/3rd row.
Overall great vehicle and hopefully one we will keep until the kids are all out of school and into college....read morehide

- Great Road Handling and Steering of a car! The Magic Disappearing seats are awesome!!
- If Chrysler imports crappy Chinese Cars for sale I'm Through w/ Chrysler
When i was 18 I owned a great 1985 Dodge Caravan with a 4 cylinder engine and a rear sear that folded into a be ( Im lucky I don't have more kids than i do now!). The Mini Van was about 5 years old and it was an awesome vehicle. They used to call the Plymouths the "Magic Wagon" and even had a magician in their ads. Well today's 2008 new Grand Caravan also has some Magic engineered into it with the long lists of features standard and the incredible Stow and Go Seats that magically disappear into the floor. I've owned the SE model for about a week and the whole family loves it. There is plenty of room for people and gear. The van listed at 22,700 and I was able to bargin down to $15,500 after rebates and before NY's high sales tax. You cant buy half a honda for that with the same equipment. Ive driven the Honda's and i do like them as well, but with the latest Caravan on the road Honda needs to play catch up now. The SE model has all the power options and abs standard. There are not all the video screens and self closing doors as in the up models, but there isn't a 25,000 price tag either. The 3.3 v6 is a great tried and true engine and the car handles the road great. The Lifetime warranty gave me piece of mind with the tranny and drivetrain as well. '
Seating in this big mini van is very comfortable and interior materials are pretty decent. I do like the color blends, but interior door panels tops should be soft to the touch. But all in all the interior adds to the experience. The controls on the base model for heating without rear air are in my opinion much easier to use than the fancier ones. The vans gauges are a bit different and extremely large if you dont happen to get a tach. All in all this new 2008 Grand Caravan is great and I hope to pass it on to my kids when they become teens....read morehide

- Almost Everything
- In older models, the middle windows don't open
I ordered my 96 Dodge Grand Caravan in 95 and I still drive it every day. It is simply wonderful. My only real complaint is that the middle windows cannot be manipulated. Every year I inquire to that effect and recently have been informed that I am now in luck. My husband and I have been married for 32 years and have purchased many cars, this has been the best by far. I plan on driving this one for 2 more years and then ordering another one. I am challenging myself to still be driving the next one when we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. If it is like this one ... it will make it hands down....read morehide

- Quiet ride, good seats, features
- fuel economy could be better
This van has every single feature I wanted, and that is RARE in a car. It has stow-and-go seats, which I love because I no longer have to take a seat out and then have to store it, and then when I need the seat for passengers I don't have to re-install it. It has terrific audio and video systems, a well designed interior electrical set up, seats upholstered in a wonderful stain resistant fabric, under-deck storage, lots of cargo room, and rear sliding door windows that actually roll down! Amazing. Seriously, I love this van...it does it all, meets all my needs, and at 30K it wasn't too awfully expensive. Buy one!...read morehide

- dual DVD system is a must for kids! love the room, very user friendly touch screen stereo
- bought brand new, engine still needs full break-in to get best fuel efficiency
My husband and I bought this van to be our family vehicle (we have 5 kids) and this is the best value! We looked at several other minivans, and by far this is the best. It is priceless that when we go on trips that our kids are all kept entertained by the dual screens with DVD or BackSeat TV options (each screen can watch a different thing than the other, which means no more fighting over what to watch). We have owned our van since March 2008 and plan to keep it until it dies (which I don't think will be anytime soon with the lifetime powertrain warranty!). I absolutely love this van!...read morehide
