- nice handling, great size, love fold-down seats
- horrible gas mileage, constantly in for repairs, 1 transmission replaced
Purchased As Used
Bought vehicle about year ago - it just came off lease and had low miles on it and was under warranty. Since then, it has been into Dodge for constant repairs - replaced transmission within first 3 months.
Gas mileage is very poor - I am getting between 13 and 16 mph. Told that the estimated MPG of 16 to 22 is just that - estimate.
I owned two previous Dodge vans - my last one lasted 155K-plus and averaged about 20 mph. It was great!
New van has a lot of rattles, noises, quirks that factory can't seem to find/hear/fix. Has been back to dealer about 8 times in 12 months. It seems parts are being replaced on each trip into repair shop and screws/mounts/etc are "unexpectedly" coming loose, need tightening, were not property tightened to begin with, etc. Front window was taken out and gaskets replaced on last trip.
Electric doors do not function properly - yet they work just fine at the dealer. Sometimes they do not open, sometimes they close when they are supposed to be opening. Sometimes they rattle ... and now Dodge has a recall on for the wiring associated with the side doors.
Indicator lights come on, go off, no consistent signs of problems. Gas cap warning comes on periodically then disappears. Dealer cannot find a reason for this behavior.
By the way, this van is just coming up on its 36,000 mile mark. I am looking at taking the loss and trading it in for something else before it bites me for a really expensive repair.
