Purchased As New
Typical Dodge vehicle; mediocre at best. For the good, the exterior and interior design is nice, especially the dash layout. The storage options are very good too, as there are lots of areas to stash stuff. Overall, this is the one bright spot of this vehicle. For the not so good, the engine is underpowered for a V6; from a stop, the engine starts strong but going up a hill is a challenge and the transmission has to hunt for the right gear. Cruise control is absolutely horrible; this car can't hold a set speed unless the road is absolutely flat plus you have to push the buttons to set and cancel multiple times to get a response. Suspension is bouncy and jarring all at the same time. Steering is suspect due to the poor suspension. The electric driver’s seat is four way instead of six way; you’re kidding, right?!?! HUGE blind spots in this car and visibility out the rear is terrible. Road noise is high. The GPS option is an insanely priced option and to add it later is even more insanely priced. For a 4" display, Dodge is out of their mind. The touch screen that comes standard is OK but it's 2013 and screen resolution for other comparable vehicles is like comparing a new iPad to a 1990 monochrome CRT. 25 MPG for mostly highway driving is a joke; my Ford 2012 F350SD (diesel) gets 21 MPG on the highway and the truck weighs over 8500 pounds. Seriously, for a narrow, low profile vehicle, this is the best Dodge can come up with for MPG? Couple this with a too small tank, the best range I can get out of this car is 450 miles.
This is a company vehicle and that’s the only reason I have it. Final rating: D. Buy the Escape; better power, better transmission, better fuel mileage and a better designed vehicle.
