2005 Dodge Magnum User Reviews
SXT AWD shown

- Great performance, roomy, smooth ride
- Gas milage so/so, control layout awkward, rear window visibility
This is the first new car I've ever bought and let me say ... Wow.
We bought the 2005 vs 2006 because the dealer was giving a lot of incentives, and it has a better warranty than the 2006. (LOADED, but paid less than a base level '06 R/T).
The ride is amazing, very smooth. The power is impressive--this car is SCARY fast. Some will say it could be faster off the line, which maybe it could. But where it truly excels is in passing. When you step on it, you can blow by anyone with no problem. MPG not the best, but with a big v-8 you expect that, and the milage isn't that bad, all things considered. (Depends on how you drive it). Besides, do you REALLY buy a big v-8 with fuel economy in mind? If you want the magnum with better mpg, buy the sxt.
Cargo space is amazing. More than enough room for almost anything I'd ever need to haul. And passenger comfort (leg room, etc) is the best of any car I've ridden in for a LOOOOONG time.
The cruise control was awkward to use at first, but after a week of driving, I'm used to it and it's not a problem. Nav system could REALLY benefit from a touch screen--takes a while to enter addresses. Rear window visibility a slight problem, but as you get used to driving it, you no longer notice.
Overall, an excellent car, great value. All of the complaints I've heard/seen/read about are things that just come with being different. As you get used to the car, they stop being problems and start being "normal". This is one awesome car.
