- Comfortable for the size great price and handles great in the snow
I just got in time for a snow storm in our area. The 4WD was fantastic. The vehicle handled so well on the snow cover back roads. I am impressed at what you get for your dollar compared to some of the other SUV's that are out there.

- Nice mileage for an SUV with alot of room to haul stuff
Bought the first one the dealer had. Handles great, rides great, is comfortable, pulls my trailer with my ATV's no problem. It also has handy cup holders and a lot of storage compartments. 120 volt electrical outlets in the backseat and rear cargo area. Radio has plug ins for DVD player, IPOD, or MP3. Solid fuel economy for an SUV. Outstanding value for the money....read morehide

- Good Fuel Econom, Spacious Interior
I love this car!!! Took it out for a test drive and decided to buy it on the spot. That night, two other Nitros were bought. I decided to downsize from a Ford Excursion and this SUV, although alot smaller still feels big enough for my family. The ride is smooth and very comfortable and you can't beat the price....read morehide

- Comfortable seats, outstanding design inside and out! Mpg are good
- Could have better handle over bumps
I traded in a 2007 vehicle I'd owned for 6 months prior to purchasing the Dodge Nitro. Let me say, I absolutely am in love with it!! The design is near flawless, comfortable ride, good mpg on highways. I had some aftermarket chrome 20's put on mine for that extra bling bling! What a difference! The looks I get when I'm out driving my Nitro are priceless!!! The guys in their Range Rovers and Hummers, can't stop looking! Ha ha ha....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, Very comfortable, Getting lots of stares from passerbys, powerful
I bought my Nitro 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it! It's amazing how many heads turn when I go by. It is very comfortable, roomy, sporty looking, good on gas mileage and powerful. This is my first 4x4 so I'm looking foward to testing it in the snow. This is a great buy for anyone looking for a gas friendly, powerful SUV. Dodge did really good with this one!...read morehide

- Ride somewhat rough, seats on SXT are to low and cannot be raised, head rest not adjustable
I took this car today for a test drive. To begin, I noticed that it was smaller than you would think by looking at brochure pictures, the web and in my opinion smaller than the XTerra. Trunk space is pretty good. Dash board is nice, although controls were a little too far for reach on the SXT, maybe because seats would need to be a little higher and cannot be adjusted. Power seats are available on the SLT (which made a huge diference) but price start to get a little ridiculous. Also your right foot is too close to engine hump (dog house), making you sit ackward. Ride was rough, like if you were driving a pick-up, also engine noise is a little high. Very impressed with transmission gear changes which I could barely notice. Overall I would not buy this vehicle. I presently own an '06 Suburban and '07 Yaris that is pretty rough on your back driving long distances and that is why I'm looking for a slightly bigger car than the Yaris but smaller and more economic than the Suburban. I thought the Nitro would be it. I would probably buy another XTerra if I can't find another 4x4 in that price range. I'm also considering the Jeep X and Compass. Test drive this vehicle and maybe even take it home for 24hrs to really get a feel for it before buying. Good luck....read morehide

- Styling, Fuel economy
- A little wind noise, needs more power.
Just bought a Black Nitro 3 days ago after looking and almost doing a deal on a Jeep Liberty. This one was on the showroom floor. I told the salesman to hold off for a little while with the Jeep deal. We drove the Nitro. I was impressed with the interior room, the ride, and the looks. We took the Nitro home and the next day, started a 800 mile shakedown trip. I'm a big guy and didn't feel cramped at all.
Lots of looks from fellow road warriors. Comments like " Looks like a Hummer H3 and when did Range Rover come out with this model?"
Overall, I'm happy with the Nitro. I've been happy with Dodge products over the years...read morehide

My wife and I just bought it today. We can't take our eyes off it! She feel in love with the car at first sight. We got the sunburst orange, a classic retro color. The seats are so comfortable, the drivers seat very supportive. Nice to have a car that turns heads, nobody has it yet. This car will be a big success for Chrysler. Our dealer, Reed Brothers, in Rockville, MD, was awesome....read morehide

- Street smart SUV with off road guts
- A little light in the rear on rough dirt roads
Not many on the roads in Colorado so far. I've had mine for over a
month and have only seen one other. The Nitro seems to have been
designed for use on the street and that's where we are 95% of the
time. Feels real good and quick handling makes us feel safe. Has
plenty of room, except driver side leg room, and is comfortable for
the kids. On real rough dirt roads the rear end seems a bit light and
the traction control warning comes on while turning. Slowing down
might help that!
We fish a lot and the Nitro does well in the mountains. Enough power
for any steep road and great traction in 4 wheel lock. Ours has been
in snow and on 4x4 trails with no trouble at all. We do not take our
vehicle rock crawling and I doubt it would survive. Just not built
I think Dodge has a winner here and I'm happy I found something
without a Japanese name plate to purchase....read morehide
