BEST MINIVAN FOR THE BUCK

by VINCENT from QUEEN CREEK,AZ (4/12/08)
Pros:very good MPG 20city and and as high as 27.5MPG

This is our forth Dodge minivan. for the money this is a very good depenable vehicle.its a base minivan with the 4 cyl 2.4 engine.the ride is excellent on long trips it handles very well in all situation.the engine has just enough power getting on the freeway.the transmission shifts smoothly.the AC works very well.the stereo cd player with four speakers really sounds great.I would recommend this vehicle to all.I know Honda, toyota and nissan bulid very good vehicles, but pricey.for the money this is a steal.

very good versatility

by TRL from Chicago,IL (11/20/07)
Pros:great overall value for money, good overall mileage for size
Cons:poor starting acceleration, shift points sometimes annoying

This vehicle came well equipped for low 20k. Would like to have more power and adjustable rear captain seats for taller people. Disappointed that Chrysler has dropped the vehicle as it has very good versatility.

Look at Honda or Toyota

by gtrider from Pa (10/27/07)
Pros:Looks OK
Cons:Generic cookie cutter van

Looked at Caravan, compared it to Honda Odessey/Sienna, no comparison.
Dodge seems cheap, cheap plastic parts, poor reputation on reliability and resale value.
Not worth purchasing.

Driver seat not aligned with steering wheel

by Joey Girouard from New-Brunswick (9/30/07)
Pros:Confortable rear seats, rides confortably, good trim finish, apperance is very good
Cons:Driver seat not aligned with steering wheel extremly uncomfortable, less than 25 mpg on highway.

Style very good. Good acceleration. Fit and finish very good. Ride is smooth When in passenger seats. But... Bought the van for long drives, but not pleased at all with confort of driver seat. Seat not aligned with steering wheel. Extremly unconfortable. Causes back pain in no time. Dealer can't fix. Very poor gaz millage. No under coating. Wating for chrysler reply on email.

Nice Van, Great Price, Good MPG

by Nylah from Atlantic City, New Jersey (8/12/07)
Pros:looks and drives nice.
Cons:transmission shifts too hard

We bought an '07 Caravan in December '06. The only complaint I had is when I was on the highway and had to speed up - slowly not instantly, the transmission would shift hard and the van would jerk. Otherwise the van was very nice. It's not as big and bulky like other vans, which comes in handy when parking or trying to switch lanes. It was similar to driving my 2005 Ford Focus.

Excellent Value. Great Looking. Very Happy here.

by Michael and Ann from Oak Creek, Wisconsin (8/02/07)
Pros:Very quiet, smooth ride, solid 25 MPG, great visibility, nice looking
Cons:Cup holders not deep enough to keep 16 oz bottles from tumbling out

Seriously . . . this 2007 model was a steel. It listed for over $25,000 but after discounts and rebates, we got it for $18,520. Our 1994 Plymouth Voyager listed for $20,025 and we paid over $16,000 for it.
Our goal with that unit was 10 years, and it rewarded us with 13+ years of troublefree service. So it is easy to see why we took the plunge and purchased another Chrysler product mini-van.

To date, we are VERY satisfied with the new 2007 SXT. The "popular equipment package number one" gave us the toys we were looking for, such as the luggage rack, six way power drivers seat, trip computer, split rear bench, etc. The fit and finish of this vehicle rivals my wife's Honda. I plan to tow a small utility trailer and have found six aftermarket hitch platforms that fit this vehicle. Trailer wiring is a snap too. I'm not sure the "Inferno Red" paint was worth the up-charge, but the quality of the paint job is A-1. Absolutly flawless!!!
Performance is very good and we are getting 25 miles per gallon with 80% freeway and 20% city driving. (We keep very accurate records.)

We learned that in 2008, Chrysled will discontinue the SWB (short wheelbase) van and only sell the "GRAND CARAVAN". We find the shorter unit is easier to parallel park and it takes up less garage space too. It also costs less.

In closing, I would recommend this van to anyone.

Sincerely, Michael and Ann

Do Not Buy!!!

by mhubmom from MA (6/09/07)
Pros:Plenty of space
Cons:Always trouble with it

Although it is covered by the manufacturer it is still an inconvinience to continually keep bringing this vehicle back for repairs. I had my check enginge light on and the car was vibrating. Brought it in. Took 5 times for them to finally fix it correctly. Such a problem fo rus with 2 children to continually bring it back. The last 2 times we compained and did get a rental! I am looking now to trade it in for another vehicle that is not a Dodge or chrysler. Be advised. Do not buy!
