Great Vehicle

by Mike from Portage, MI (7/19/08)
Pros:Lots of room to haul people and personal items around, great styling, and great performance.
Cons:none

Yes it can be more difficult than the average vehicle to see through the rear window but if you know how to drive then its not a problem. I love the vehicle and wish they would keep making it.

Like, BUT.....

by Pauly D from Boynton Beach, FL (6/24/08)
Pros:Love the way this car looks, just awesome.
Cons:I have had many trim and fit issues and a continuing ride issue

Car has plenty of power, room, style etc, BUT...... I have have many issues regarding comfort of ride and stability at high speeds (not related to tire balance). Have brought back to the dealership one too many times. Hopefully they will fix soon.

Solid Car

by Ralph from Pueblo, Colorado (6/23/08)
Pros:Storage, power, unique looks, comfort
Cons:fuel economy, long roof, minor maintenance

I think the Magnum is a GOOD car in the sense of a solid car that will do what you want as long as you understand you're buying a somewhat sporty wagon. I have a 2006 SXT AWD that I use for a company car. I am turning it in tomorrow with almost 70000 miles, so I thought I would write a review for those considering this car, new or used. The positives of the car is that it has easy access all around. The car is lower than a SUV and easy to enter, exit or load. The back liftgate is a little low and doesn't open well in the winter, here in Colorado. The AWD is nice but the OEM all season tires didn't bite well in the mountain snow. Some Blizzaks fixed that and I was fine from then on. The car has great pickup in the lower gears, almost too much in first. You have to get used to it. The 250hp, 3.5l engine is a good solid engine all around and appropriate to the weight of the car. I found it handled every need from passing to merging well. The only slow spot was when you stomp it to pass it can have quite a delay, almost 2 seconds, so plan that. The visibility is pretty good although the front roof overhang is considerable. If you are first at a light you may have to lean forward to see it, lol. I had cloth seats and they held up very well and were comfortable.

The only negatives were that the car had a stalling problem twice while I drove it. It would start and stall immediately even if you started it five times in a row. It wouldn't hold an idle. It did not stall while driving. They replaced a chip the first time and couldn't figure it out the second time. The air conditioner needed recharging each year, too, but didn't malfunction. The rest was pretty good. The best mileage I could get was 21mpg, but it wasn't too much worse in the city. That's not really much better than the midsize SUV's, but not horrible, either.

In the end I thought the car was a good car, but not necessarily great. It carried me and my sales stuff pretty reliably with the right tires and basic maintenance. It wasn't the best or worst car I've had in terms of reliability. I liked the ease of entrance and loading and many people would comment on the styling to me...more than some of my beemers.

Like Day & Nite!!!!

by Thick_N_Little from Chicago, IL (4/28/08)
Pros:EVERYTHING
Cons:NONE

I just recently purchased my 2005 Magnum & WOW!!!! I am amazed! I was already use to driving the new Dodges because my boyfriend has a 2006 Charger. But I instantly fell in love with my Magnum. I am converting from a 2-door 2000 Pontiac Sunfire with 2 children. My favorite perk is that I do not have to physically climb into the backseat to strap my son into his carseat. This car is all that I want & need. It compliments me & I compliment it. We always get "looks." This car is very versitale & I love that. 1 minute it is the mommy-mobile & the next it is the stunt-mobile (like day & nite)! Plus I cannot believe what I paid for it. 2005 with 30k miles, still had the original plastic from the manufacturer under the floormats. Leather interior, sunroof, adjustable pedals & seats, everything! Plus it's great on the road! The only thing is that I am kind of short so it is hard for me to get to my kids from the the front, but they have everything they need in back, so never mind then!

Magnum RT Rules!

by familyguy from Cleveland OH (4/21/08)
Pros:Plenty of room, great ride and performance, terrific looking.
Cons:no folding sideview mirrors

Can honestly say this is the best car I've ever owned. Very comfortable, powerful and roomy. No surprises on gas milage. 17-18 around town, 23-25 on the highway at 75 mph. Multidisplacement engine works wonders. Quiet ride, handles great and although only 4 months old, have not had a single problem. Terrific car for the money. Can haul lots of stuff or cruise around in stlye. Truly can't believe that Chrysler has stopped making this model. I've owned other "sport wagons" and the Magnum is by far tops of the bunch.

Best of the Rest

by Florida Fred from Tampa Fl (4/12/08)
Pros:26mpg. Smooth ride and great handling, Plenty of room and very comfortable.
Cons:have had back windows repaired twice as they would not work. Still not always functional.

I bought this 2005 magnum brand new in 05 and I have never regretted it! This is one of the best handling and roomy cars I have owned. The price for the product is an equal ratio. It is truly sad that this vehicle is being removed from the Dodge line after this year. Especially since the newer auto styles are not rated very high. (And frankly no where near as nice a body style. Of course the Charger is a magnum with the back roof cut off, so I guess that's a choice!!

I would buy another one of these when I am ready to trade out. Unfortunately there will be no more.

I'm in love again...

by bigsmitty from Northeast Pennsylvania (4/08/08)
Pros:I'm getting 30 mpg with what i think is a very friskie 2.7 V6. I got a base model, previous rental.
Cons:I honestly have nothing bad to say about this car.

Every time I drive this car I like it more, and I have certainly been putting it through some serious road tests, everything from the backroads of rural Pennsylvania to the mean streets of NYC... and when i hit the gas she's there for me, anywhere, anytime, any speed, any road, and handles like a racing car... and what a crowd pleaser!!! She turns heads everywhere I go, and I feel when I'm driving it that I'm in one of the coolest cars on the road, case closed... need I say more? If a person can be in love with a machine well I dare say I got that going on!!! Even the cops are switching to the Dodge Charger, which is built on the same platform of the Magnum and Chrysler 300. Now the cops even get to be cool... bet they're runnin' hemi's in those babies!!!! wut a world!!!

Great car!

by Magnum Owner (3/27/08)
Pros:nice pep, roomy interior. love the intimidating stance!
Cons:other people are jealous of it, so they often honk! :-)

This is a great wagon. The ride is very stable, and offers enough pep to move quickly. I have the six banger, and it is very quiet unless I floor it, which isn't bad because I wasnt feedback. The handling is responsive, and the tires keep up nicely. Kudos to Dodge for putting a MyGIG System in. It's awesome!

Not just your ordinary car,its your hot rod

by Patty from Sacramento,Ca (3/25/08)
Pros:Roomie,stylish,good gas milage,etc
Cons:My back window on rolls down when it wants to, need to take it to the dealer...........It sticks.

This is to Eric who said he cant see when parking. I guess thats the price we pay to look cool in this cool car. I've had mine for a year now, and i can see ok now, and I have dice on my inside mirror, which makes it worse. yet, I love my Magnum and wouldnt change a thing on it. Runs great, gets great gas milage , and looks smooth on the road.

great buy for family.

by jc from minnesota (3/21/08)
Pros:style, versatility, own AWD model and it's excellent in snow.
Cons:none yet

Great family car. Replaced our Trailblazer with this and have no regrets at all. Great winter traction, very roomy, nice storage. Much better deal than Subaru wagon with less room and not any better mileage.
