Is any car worth 261k$?

by LMD from coast to coast (7/13/08)
Pros:The sound of a v-12 at 5000 RPM, pushing 160 on I-95, tomb-like interior.
Cons:I could complain about fuel economy but I just payed 261k$ for a car! Puff of smoke at start-up

THe transition between 1st and 2nd can be jumpy. I expected at least the same shift quality as my tiptronic. The driver window whistles over 155. The hand stitched seats wrap you in Enzos own warm embrace and just looking at the instrument cluster makes your adrenaline pump. The exterior design is sensuous but a tad bulbous.

The family man Ferrrari

by John from Buffalo, NY (6/03/08)
Pros:Intoxicating V12, ability to scare more than one passenger
Cons:Dowdy looking compared to other Ferraris.

Great powerslide car! The rear weight bias makes for very easy and controllable drifts.

I don't own one of these but I had a chance to drive one for three months while doing work on the vehicle (I work for a supplier for this vehicle). It was cool being able to secure a car seat in back and take my 2 yr old to daycare.

The car was also suprisingly good in the snow. I actually drove it during a Buffalo, NY snow storm with summer tires. Got a lot of suprised looks when people realized it was a Ferrari.

Power can't match up to its appearance

by George from Santa Monica, CA (3/23/08)
Pros:Serious power, only Ferrari with rear seats, wild handling, blasting 0-60
Cons:Wierd appearance, nightmare at the pump

You have to love the 540 hp V12 engine, nice and smooth handling, fast 0-60, and the rear seats Ferrari decided to put in.

But the appearance and the gas mileage will make you nauceous.

But I still have to say the 612 is one awsome Ferrari!

A big boy car

by Gary from Portola Valley, CA (12/10/07)
Pros:Power, handling, pure luxury, V12
Cons:Watching the gas gauge move leftward

I viewed this car as a way station on the path to a 599, but I may just keep it! The faster you go, the better it drives -- fantastic in high speed sweepers, and with a quick downshift or two it zips through slower corners like a car hundreds (or even a thousand) pounds lighter. The thing is a revelation -- complelely different from my beloved 512TR, but a noble successor to the long line of Ferrari V12s.
Pulls like a locomotive -- real gutsy torque. And the interior (mine is the "natural" leather with french blue trim) is pure luxury. My wife wants me to keep it once the 599 arrives and sell the Mercedes! I'm sure that I'll suffer a little more depreciation than if I'd bought the 430, but once you're hooked on the 12 cylinder cars, the 8 will always seem like an "entry level" item. Can't wait to get this car on the track -- which I never thought I'd say.

Best 4 seater

by kevin from San Diego, CA (10/22/07)
Pros:Blisteringly quick, 200 mph, roomy interior, race car for four
Cons:styling is controversal but i actually like it. reliability is unsure. and price is astronomical

This may quite honestly be the best car, ever. Yes, its got an extremely long hood but its actually a mid-engined car. Not in the strictest sense, but it does sit well behind the front axle. The transmission is placed far back giving it an even weight distribution. The steering feel is very nutrual and it will drift sideways on command. No, I don't have the money to buy one unfortunatley. But if I did, I would get it because the driving experience is truly worth the money. It can carry actual adults in the back (for about 45 minutes), its luggage space is pretty generous. People are far too picky on this car. Just because its a bit less conservative and a lot bigger than other Ferraris doesn't mean it can't compete with the best of them. My opinion, best four seater, EVER. My uncle's neighbor has one, so I got to drive it. Its quiet and smooth when you want it to be, but when you floor it, it makes you think Enzo, the sound, the thrust, everything. Bentley and Mercedes Benz have great coupes, but they're just luxurious and fast on the straitline, Ferrari will rocket you to 60 in under 4 seconds, bask you in luxury, AND destroy every 4 seat coupe in the twisties, (porsche doesn't count)
