2008 Ford E-Series Van User Reviews
E-250 Extended shown
- $10,394 - $12,514
- I get 9 - 11 mpg towing a 8,000#TT. 12 to 15 w/o the TT. Quite good for this vehicle.
- Electrical harness wiring broke 1700 mile from home. Dash lights very dim, espec. w/ headlights on
Ours is the 2005 E-350 Chateau model. Other than the before mentioned problems, It has worked excellently for the towing purposes. Ours is the V-10 with a 4.10 RA. The front passenger doesn't have much foot room, but otherwise, a great long trip vehicle. Ride is a little rough but not bad.

- Good looking, outside and inside, good sound system and AC
- Ride is too rough, side door hard to close, mpg not improved in 10 years
I like the new front end style but would have liked to see more change in the rest of the body over the last twelve years. Need less wind noise on the windshield at high speeds It needs a better ride for the front end as you feel more of the rough road then on my last van, (E-150, 1996). The steering and control is better and tighter. The raidio. sound system and AC are better. The look of the dash is good except for the two 12V plug in adapters are too close to the gear shift lever and interfer with shifting when an accessory is pluged in. I also like the better window tint it has. The rear side doors are hard to close as are the back doors. I like the better sail mount mirrors it has for viewing to the rear, I pull a traval trailer. It also handles my 27 foot trailer very well in all appliations. Engine preformance in very good so far. I bought it last October of 08 and it is my third Ford E-150 in the last twenty years. Right now I would still buy another one when needed....read morehide

- Lots of room, ride smoothly at 90mph.
- Not much compartment in dash to hold things. No glove box, shocks too bouncey
I drove about 20000 miles as a rental. and I would say, for a rental car it is ok. However, the passenger entry is problematic for older folks if they need to get into the 3rd and 4th row.
The plastic on the steering wheel is making annoying noises and creaks. Auto door lock/unlock button is not intuitive, is the bumb means unlock? Dip is lock? Side door needs to slam to close tightly. Same with the rear door. Access to 3rd row seat becomes very difficult because of the 3 point seat belt is attached to the wall and the length of the seat just too long to give enough room to enter with ease. Removing the rear seats (extended version) to fit cargo requires a body builder. That thing probably weight 200lb. It's a back breaker. The 2 nylon straps are too far apart for 1 person to unlatch the rear seat and it springs back in place. I'm just happy that the seat can be taken off without a screw driver, or a torque wrench. Opening the side door is quite interesting, there is a flap thing deep inside the panel. The front panel has 4 cup holders, 1 ash tray and a small space for storage undeneath the center console. The door panels have some slots to put a water bottle and other maps, but the storage is so far down at the bottome of the door, you can't reach for it while driving, it's dangerous. I have to bend over to reach it. Not a recommended thing to do while on the road. And there is no hazard light blinker. I couldn't find it. The steering column shifter is difficult to tell where you shift to without looking at the panel. You just can't feel how many clicks to get you to drive. I had shift to N a couple of times, and sometimes, in between....read morehide

- nice sleek grill - i get looked at by people where ever i travel
- brakes won't give a smooth full stop, bad mirrors, very bad door handle for side doors
i have a very hard time explaining to the passengers how to open the side doors especially in the night time when its dark- the handle is berried in a dark hole (how does this sound, "PUT YOUR HAND IN THE HOLE AND PULL THE LEVER TO YOU" their response is, "there is no handle" to which i respond, "NO WITH YOUR FINGERS DOWN"
and the extended side door needs to be slammed in order to fully close it
shocks do not work at all very bad on bumps...read morehide
