My truck is a 2002 F-150 Flare Side 4.2 v6 5 speed manual trans.
This series truck the F-150, has a history of blown engines on the 4.2 v6, it will cost you $4000. to fix.
My truck has only 57,000 miles on it, and the transmission is shot, it is costing me over $4000. to fix it. Thanks FORD for quality being job number one.
As soon as I get it back from the shop, I am trading it in. I cannot afford to replace the engine too, that would be over $8000.
If you cannot get over 100K miles on a truck, why buy it? And pay over $17,000 for a truck that might cost you over $8000 to keep running? I used to be a loyal ford customer,....not any more, ever!
