- Drives well, takes abuse. Good payload capacity
- Pedal placement is not good.
I got the FX2 Supercab version of this truck in March of 2007. Aside from the spyware [black box] this truck has the "drive by wire" meaning no throttle cable. When driving on the street and you need to make a sudden acceleration there will be a 2 to 4 second delay before the truck reacts to the the request. Dealer says it is controlled by the computer and they cannot do anything about it. This is a potential safety issue.
For someone my height [6'] the throttle pedal is not placed correctly for a comfortable drive, fortunately with the cruise control it is tolerable.
The manual goes to great lengths to instruct the driver to hold the steering wheel at the 4 and 8 O' Clock postion instead of the 10 and 2 O'clock position to avoid injury from the air bags if deployed, I wonder why the controls are still set up to use the 10 and 2 O'clock postion.
Beyond that the truck is enjoyable to drive but I would never recommend it to anyone.
