- New front end improves maneuvrability, built-in trailer brake control
- Not enough power to the road, rough ride
I moved from '04 F250 to '05 F350 with GVW 11,400 Lbs. The new coil springs in front suspension make it much more maneuvrable when backing in my 5th wheel trailer. The built-in trailer brake control is best in industry, just plug in and go. This truck has same 6.o diesel and five-speed transmission as F250 but it can not handle my 27 ft trailer as well; it is constantly shifting down into 4th gear, and it jerks going down the road. The stiffer suspension is so rough it wants to buck my trailer and/or boat right off the road. Big part of problem is step up to 18-inch wheels and tires; I would recommend the 17-inch wheels and F250 model.
