- Smooth ride for 1 ton, good fuel economy if under 75 MPH, forgot that there is a trailer on back!
- No navigation system, towing 8k# fuel is 12 mpg @ 75MPH, Gale Banks Engineering HELPS TONS-
Many improvements from early Super Duties. Ride comfort is a major plus. By adding a Gale Banks Power PDA kit and accessories, this truck rocks for a 1 ton dually. 410 differentials delivers up to 17.5 MPG highway as long as you keep it between 65 and 70 MPH. At 75 MPH, fuel drops down to 15 MPG. Around town an honest 14 MPG. All of these figures are empty-not towing. I tow an enclosed 30 foot trailer that weights 8,000 lbs and I get 12-13 MPG on the highway at 75 MPH and the transmission never needs to downshift!. These figures would be slightly better in the summer. Updates and enhancements are being released for 2008 MY. They include many interior improvements and an all new 6.4L v-8 diesel engine. The navistar engine features a common rail-fed piezo-injection fuel system that produces 350 HP and 650 lb-ft of torque. For the serious haullers, it has a towing capacity of 24,400 lbs. - comfortable truck,
- pleaged by transmission problems, front end loose
When new to 20,000 miles fine. Transmission slipping since replaced part after part, with no fix. Transmission shop confirms ford has transmission problems in towing, Steering joints light for truck. Try interstate @ bridges and small pot holes SHAaaaKkkkEeee.
