- Good compact size, very good power, good on gas, a generous cargo area, very comfortable interior
I just purchased a leftover 2004 Ranger longbed in the XL trim package, and with the exception of a few trim changes it is the same truck as the 2005 model. The Ranger has been the best selling truck in its class for 17 years, and there is a good reason for it. Ford has a winner, has been from the start, and keeps it fresh. The size is just right, not too big and not too small. It has plenty of power, is very good on gas, has plenty of cargo space, rides smooth and is quiet. The interior is well laid out, the guages are plain to read and easy to see, and the cabin is very comfortable. Sure, Ill admit it, there are plenty of trucks out there, and Ford has competition. Chevy, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, they all make a very good product. I take nothing away from themand they should be proud of their trucks as well. Some say the Ranger has a dated style, and is not as up to date as its competition. I say it's style is classic, and continuous model redesign is a waste and also very expensive. It cant be the best seller in its class for 17 years for nothing. Its the best seller because Ford does its homework; they make a great product, and keep it great. Lets not forget one other thing. The Ranger is still made in the U.S.A.[mine in the Twin Cities plant] Its made in America, giving other Americans something to be proud of, not to mention good jobs, and the money stays here where it does the most good.Helping the American economy, not some other foreign nations economy. If you are in the market for a compact truck, you owe it to yourself to give the Ranger a serious look, I doubt you will be disappointed. By the way, I am in no way employed by Ford, and do not recieve any favors by my positive review. I do not even own any Ford stock. Do yourself a favor. Take a good look at a Ford Ranger the next time you are shopping for a small truck. It might be a very pleasant surprise, one that you may have overlooked. Remember, best seller in its class for 17 years!!!!!!!!!!!Bravo Ford!! Keep them coming!!!
