Bought this truck brand new off the lot April of 2007! Never had one problem. Love the truck. Excellent braking and reliability. I have the 2.3L XL Model. The power of the 2.3L is unbelievable! After owning an older mustang with the old style 2.3 i didnt think it would be very good. But the torque and overall pulling power of the truck is great. I paid a whopping 15,200 canadian for the truck! with extra options added free! I definitely recommend this truck over any light duty truck on the market....read morehide

- Good on gas stylish inexpensive
- not alot of power or room in cab
I bought my 1997 xlt ranger side step for $3500 1 year ago with low milage. Had a 1990 3.0 v6 before and crashed it...but this truck has alot less power. If your going to buy a ranger get a V6 4x4.

- 5 speed automatic, simple interior, 24 mpg, easy to maneuver
- loud engine, poor cruise control performance, questionable stability on highway
This truck rates highly for value for the money, clean lines, and low maintenance interior with the vinyl seats and floors. Seating position is comfortable with the fold down armrest in the regular cab. The 4 cylinder engine actually has excellent acceleration at 3000 rpm and above but the harsh noise and vibration doesn't suggest quality. At 70 mph or higher I find the truck to be a bit unstable if the highway is rough, but loafing around town up to 50 mph it is very comfortable. I have averaged 23 - 24 mpg over 15000 miles with the 5 speed automatic, which is a fairly smooth transmission except for some lurching at kick down. My driving is about 1/3 city, 2/3 highway. There isnt much storage inside the regular cab. Perhaps the most irritating thing about the truck is how the transmission kicks down so easily during use of the cruise control because the 4 cylinder doesn't have enough torque to hold speed on even slight hills. It is a bit exhausting to have the engine constantly jumping to 3500 rpm and roaring the whole time. Overall, though, it has been a simple, reliable and economical truck with insurance costs only $450 per year....read morehide

- 30mpg,reliable,tough little truck,cruise control,tilt wheel,cd player
- ride is rough but it is a truck, roof needs to be a little higher
I got a good deal with 500 off invoice and a 2500$ rebate.Ive only had it for 3 months but it rides great and Im getting 30mpg most of the time.I know people complain about the rough ride but this is what a truck should drive like. Its peppy and fun to drive unless it rains then it does spin the tires a little.Overall Im happy with it.Some people say the Ranger is an outdated platform, but hey its been working for over 20 years. So if it aint broke dont fix it........read morehide

- My 2005 4 cyl has great pefrmance and is an OK truck if you don't want to go fast!
- I guess Ford was starting to change to the new model when I got mine and I have had some problems.
I got the truck and it had driveshaft problems and vibrations that have not been fixed by the dealer, instead they did an alighnment and damaged the front suspension and now the truck Leans to the left- Ford wont fix it because it's within the Sloppy Specs of 3/4" . So i have a truck that hops to the left that the dealer cant feel.
Dont Buy This Model of Ford Ranger unless you have Deep Pockets!!!...read morehide

- 2.3L FiveSpeed Manual . Almost 30MPG Highway. Price was right with $2500.00 rebate.
Great economical commuter truck. Very versatile. Work or Play. Tows the jetski & utility trailer no problem. I couldnt bring myself to buying/driving a car. Cant go wrong with a Ranger . Good choice.

- Comfortable, Durable, Looks Great
- 2.3 Liter Acceleration, Height...wish it was a little taller
I love My truck. I own a 2006 Ranger, 2.3 liter 16 valve 4 cylinder, Regular cab with 6 foot bed. This is probably the best investment i have ever made. It is not as tall or as fast as i would like it...but what do you expect with a 4 cylinder
