2005 Ford Ranger Super Cab 4X2 User Reviews
126-in. WB STX Styleside 2 Door shown
- $5,698 - $7,230
- looks good, good value
- poor gas mileage(3L), poor speakers(cd player),rough ride(unloaded)
the ride never lets you forget that you are driving a truck, until you throw some weight in the bed. i got a tool box installed and that weight smoothed it out quite a bit. gas mileage (actual) averaged 17 until i had a flowmaster exhaust installed($300), now i average about 20, well worth it from a cost standpoint since i got more power to boot (feels like about a 25 hp bump) and the system will pay for itself in a year or two. after the instalation i went from one coast of florida to the other in one trip and got 23.3 mpg.. i may add a better air intake system soon as i have heard that i might get 1-2 mpg bump from that. incentives and rebates put my final cost at $18,100. out the door, including the "platinum" warranty, discounted from $2300., my cost $800.. vehicle is an end of year 2003, bought new, 3L, 3.55 gears, automatic, now has 31,000 mi. no mishaps or repairs so far. i keep my vehicles a long time so i'll let you know how it all turned out in my next review, in 2015....read morehide

- good interior and exterior design
- takes a lot of gas for the size of engine it has (3L).
I have 2002 model and it works for me. I have to say that after the transmission was rebuilt after 12K, nothing broke yet.

- Decent fuel economy-great fit and finish-built ford tough
- Wont be confused with a car while riding
I own one with the 3.0 V-6 and let me tell you, that engine is bulletproof! It surely isnt the most powerful engine, but if you want something dependable for 175,000+ miles the 3.0 is the way to go.
