- Pros
- Good fuel economy, simple styling, seems solid and reliable
- Cons
- Hard to get items into the storage behind the seats.
My Ranger is the 2006 XL, 2.3L engine, automatic transmission. This one does not have the small doors for accessing the storage behind the seats and that's too bad because it can be hard to access that area. The front seats do not come forward far enough. I intentionally bought it with no power windows and no power door locks. It comes with an A/C and AM/FM radio and the rubber/vinyl floor. I never really understood why a truck should have carpet, and it's seems it's getting harder to find the no carpet option anymore. I've had this truck for about a year and my only complaint is an annoying vibration in the dash sometimes when at idle at a red light. Otherwise this truck has been great. I average about 22.5mpg city driving and upper 20's on road trips. I recently hit 29.5 mpg on a trip where I was not running the A/C and there was no significant wind blowing; however, I kept my speed at 65mph or less for the whole trip which obviously helps. Many complain that this model has not been updated to keep up with the competition. I disagree; the changes have been incremental, but they are there. The styling has not be radically changed over the years which is a good thing because it still looks like a truck should. Clean simple lines never go out of style. Vehicles today look like they need to be on a diet along with their owners. I would really have liked to see a scaled back version of the f150 interior though, but this interior is acceptable. This truck seems well made and should prove to be long lasting. Time will tell....read morehide

- Cons

My Ranger is a 2004 Edge wi/extended cab. Old style design and do not have the latest technical stuff buy the price was excellent compared to all the other compact trucks, with all the power options on my Ranger, no others come close! I had the truck for w years without any problems. Best truck value in town!...read morehide

- Pros
- Fuel economy, handling, exterior/interior looks, excellent brakes,
- Cons
- ride, pedal positioning for shorter drivers
I'm getting about 26 mpg overall with more around driving than highway. For a 4 cylinder this truck actually accelerates better than my 97 with a 3.0 V6.
