Best car I've ever own in terms of comfortable seating and excellent handling. Seating in the driver seat is like drive in my sofa-chair. Long distance trips are no longer a hassle. Driving longer distances is now enjoyable.
People frequently ask many question concerning make, design and manufacturer. I quick tell them of the MPG in City (40 average) and 44 on the HWY. Providing, of course if I drive 65 mph on high way. And, I do, to safe on fuel and test the MPGs, Haven't driven more than 100 mile each way though.
The only inconvenience is that after a two weeks trip, I had to call roadside assistance for a battery jump. Was advised by tech to disconnect battery cables when car become stationary for a long period. My last trip was for 8 days, and it was fine. It started right up....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

After looking at the Honda Insight, Toyota Prius and the C-Max, I decided on the C-Max. The C-Max has more passenger space than the Honda or Toyota, well designed interior, and is competitively priced.
True there is no spare tire - that's because Ford offers their own roadside assistance program, which is FREE for the first 5 YEARS.
I like the roomy feel of the interior and the hidden storage wells in the back. It also boasts a USB plug and regular 3 prong outlet in addition to the "lighter" plug most are accustomed to.
As far as the MPG goes, it obviously is going to depend on where and how you drive. If you drive 85 mph on the highway, of course it is going to use gas. I drive both in town and on the interstate. I have had the car at 60 mph while on the battery. As a matter of fact, my average mpg is 48.4.
I have no complaints. In fact, I can't stop talking about the car to everyone. It is fun to drive, looks great, and is saving me lots of gas money. I highly recommend the C-Max....read morehide7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

Got the wife the SEL with all the options. Love everything about the car and its attention to detail. Only issue is mileage. Have 2000 miles on vehicle and highest mpg so far is 41.8. Can mileage be increased by software updates or maybe tuneup? Don't know but will check with dealer at 5000 mile tire rotation. I have owned a Chevy SSR, Chevy Vette, Porsche 928. This cars quality is right up there with them....read morehide

It is hit or miss when buying the C-Max. I bought one and returned it to the dealer after about 1,000 miles because it was only getting 32-39MPG. The dealer and the owners manual had suggested breaking in the car for at least 1,000 miles but the mileage never improved. We liked the ride and several other features of the car and gave a different C-MAX a shot. Amazingly the second C-MAX hit 47MPG from the git go and even tested the 50 /60MPG level several times. What we concluded from owning the first car and looking at feedback and reviews on web is the reality with the C-MAX Hybrid is there are two MPG performance catagories for the car. One that averages in the mid-thirties and one that performs in the mid-forties. The higher MPG model had much less touchy braking, hit in the 40MPG within 5 miles of starting and based on feedback on the web may have had a properly tuned and functioning gas system. The fit and finish was also better on the second car. Bottom line the C-MAX is hit or miss vehicle. If you test drive one and don't hit in the +40MPG range right out of the gate you should walk away from that particular car. If you get the right one from the factory you will be happy.......read morehide

Would I buy this car again NO there are non HYBRID cars that
will do more MPG and cost less. Why do Ford have to lie and make false statements the truth is always the best way to go
This car driven very carefully will only do 37MPG and I would like someone from Ford to show me wrong but they don't care

I was surprised that there is so much space inside. I am 6 ft tall and I could seat comfortably in the back. The voice recognition system is a little finicky and I used better navigation systems before but overall Sony entertainment is very good with high quality sound. Mileage is great. The latest average is 42.4 miles per gallon. It is still not 47 but I drove only 950 miles so far. Overall I will highly recommend this car....read morehide

I'm 54 and have had so many cars over the years. Foreign, domestic, gas hogs, 4 X 4s. This is the best, most solid car I've ever owned. OK, some of my friends think it looks like a potato...but I like how it looks. Very comfortable, front and back. I have the SEL package with MyTouch, foot activated rear gate, leather, blah blah blah.... I can get 47 to 50 if I don't use the available horsies, but when I step on the gas, I can really get this 3700lbs beast moving quickly and nimbly.
I think if you drive it like a regular car and park it in the street, you're only going to get 37mpg over all. I get more because I do "pulse and glide" driving. I would by this again....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

I traded in a 2000 Jeep(181000 mi). Loved the car. The car loved the gas. The cmax has reduced my bills by more than half. We took it on a long trip to New Hampshire over the holidays. It handled a 10 in snow with no trouble, was very comfortable and performed beautifully. So far I really love the car which feels bigger inside than it appears outside. After we found the cmax we stopped looking at other cars....read morehide
