- Best riding midsize suv I've driven in
- Little hard to back up due to view
Purchased As Used
Drove several mid-suv's and this one definetly outperformed all that I test drove. This included a Lexus GX470 for ride and handling. Panaramic roof is fabulous. Very quite on the road. Drove 1600 miles to Florida and back at 75-80 MPH and got 22 MPG.
20 inch wheels look great....read morehide

- AWD, Beautiful Design, Standard Safety Features(airbags, etc.)Performance and Ride
Purchased As Used
This is our second Ford Edge that we've owned. Our first one had to be totalled after the wife was rearended by a young girl. My wife and kids walked away fine!! The Edge didnt fair as well. It protected my family and there was no way we werent going to replace it with anything other than another Edge. We love everything about our Edge Limited. We have received numerous compliments by non Ford fans on how nice our Edge is and how they will be looking Fords way on their next car purchase!! The interior is very spacious and the ride is more comfortable than most cars! Function/Features are excellent and i really like the Navigation/Sync. Power liftgate is something i never thought i would like but now i don't know how we lived without it! (Think trips to get groceries with bags in hands and pouring down rain!!!) The AWD works seamlessly and the overall ride is amazing. 20 inch rims look amazing! I know many complain about gas mileage, but i get around 23-24 average for highway/city and considering the size of this vehicle, thats excellent. You dont buy a vehicle with this size interior for gas mileage, if you want gas mileage buy a small econo car. If you want enough room to take the family along and their luggage and be comfortable the whole way then go for the EDGE!! For anyone looking for a nice 5 seat family cruiser, look no further!!...read morehide

- awd;excellent performance and ride;advanced airbags comes standard
- brakes started squeaking while leaving the dealer
This is a really good car. It got 33 mpg and first tank took me 400 miles. Silver is the best color for this car. I think this car is a little overpriced. Have owned the journey, acadia but the edge beats them all.

- Safest Car around, fun to drive, looks great
My wife hit 2 1500lb elks going 60mph in this car on Hwy 101 just south of Crescent City, CA.
The elks totally destroyed this car, yet my wife walked away without a scratch, bruise, pain, nothing. She pushed the door open and simply walked away.
And, to top it off, the air bags didn't deploy. From talking to the dealer this is expected, as she didn't hit them headon, they were hit first in the drivers side front corner, whipping the elk around smashing into the side of the car, causing it to spin and then hit another elk on the other side.
I've only had the car 5 months. It was a beauty - dark ink blue, all the options.
And now, I'm getting another one, just like it. This car saved my wife's life, and I woudn't think twice about buying this model for the rest of my life....read morehide

- Luxery meets sporty-edge with enough bite in horse-power to handle myself through rush-hour traffic
- Sync needs to be refined and tweaked to handle blue tooth technology more efficiently and easily.
Just bought this vehicle less than a month ago. This is my first Ford...my second crossover...traded my Dodge Caliber RT...this is a bigger bite from the Caliber RT...love the horse-power...plenty of cargo space is much appreciated...love the view from atop...all the perks and incentives that came along with my new '08 Edge on top of having 20" rims makes this crossover very nifty...not to happy with the milage but at least it lets me know how many miles I have before it runs out of gas...still trying to configure the Sync capability with my blue-tooth...but i love the hands-free technology......read morehide

- Best value in class, excellent build quality, very good gas mileage, always smooth and quiet, roomy
- Needs more color options/combinations, dealers need help, key fob works only at short distance
I traded in a Honda Pilot which I leased in 2005 for the family for the Ford Edge. The Pilot was a fairly practical SUV, although fuel consumption really was a let down. I rarely saw above 14 MPG average city and highway. On the highway I often touched 20 but only if I was on cruise control at 60 MPH or less. It also needed a good amount of servicing, especially for a Honda which usually has a good reputation. I looked at everything from the Toyota Highlander (expensive, ulgy, cramped, poor gas mileage) to the BMW X3 (over priced, poor reliability, horrific gas mileage, low rent interior) to the Acura RDX (turbo lag, rough ride, small interior, limited practicality). The Ford was the last SUV I looked at and knew right away it was the best. In fact, its the first Ford I have looked at in more than 18 years which says a lot because I was a former Honda/Toyota/BMW man. I have now owned this SUV for 11 months and so far I am 110% satisfied. It has met and exceeded my expectations in most things.
First it is very good on a gas. I average well over 20 MPG city and highway combined. So far I have paid $80 in service fees for oil changes and normal items.
The ride is very good and it is very quiet. The only naggle I have is the premium sound system which is not well integrated into the vehicle. Some low bass rumbles cause vibrations in the door panels. The other naggle is the wind noise picks up and there is a whistle above 85 MPH which is my normal cruising speed. The dealer said the headlamp seal was broken and sure enough replaced it but only 2 months later it repeated itself.
There is plenty of room inside and the seats are comfortable. The interior is classy and very good quality. Much better than my Honda Pilot and the BMW X3 I drove around.
In all this is a great SUV for families....read morehide

- Good Looking and Comfortable. Excellent Sound System. Decent Mileage. Fun to drive!!!!
- Strange blindspots on driver AND passenger sides. Sync is not all that friendly :-(
Overall, Ford did a good job with this one! Hopefully, whatever remedy is devised to address the "blindspot" issue will be made available to all existing EDGE owners for little to no additional cost. Unfortunately, I did not discover this issue prior to purchase. This might have been a deal-breaker for me if I had known about it. Let's just say that while I am still VERY happy with the vehicle I would not purchase another one until the blindspot issue is addressed....read morehide

- Apperance and extras
- Gas Mileage
Knew as soon as we saw this commercial we wanted it. Rented it and feel in love. Found the dealer with the color we wanted and every extra possible. Some of the features that stood out to me, remote power liftgate, reclinable rear seats, voice activation "SYNC", navigation system, heated seats, with controls near a/c. Vista roof.
Vista roof can even remain in "tilt" mode while raining. Sound system is very nice, doubt i will ever use it to it's potential, but nice to have.
Love the USB port, easy to stick music on a usb drive, plug in and go for hours. Would definately recommend, and would recommend the "limited" edition if in your budget. Which also comes with 20" rims. Only con was the gas mileage, which is average, for us about 16 mpg all city driving, and short drives, just wish it was more like 40....read morehide
