2004 Ford Escape User Reviews
XLT 4X2 shown
- $4,189 - $6,418
- No trim specified for this review
- Roomy, Solid feel, Good acceleration
- Brake dust, fuel economy, cabin noise level.
We bought a left over 2003 and have never regretted that decision. The seating room, cargo capacity and very snappy performance are unbeatable. Getting in and out of tight spaces and parking are teriffic, and performance on unpaved roads is great too.
The biggest improvements that could be made though would be to quiet down the cabin and improve the fuel mileage a bit. Depending on city or town driving, milage has run anywhere from 14 to 24mpg.
A pet peeve of mine is the brake dust that quickly accumulates on the front wheels.(you can't keep em' clean)
Otherwise this is a solid, well handeling, fun to drive machine. Very definately worth a test drive if you are looking for a smaller SUV.
