I bought a 2005 Escape XLT. Not a perfect SUV, but for around $20,000, its a practically vehicle, and the 2005 looks great. Interior space is just right for me. 0-60 is pretty fast. Great traction even when speeding up on wet road. It beats a lot of other bigger sized suv. But at over 60mph, don't expect this to be a speedy machine. When it comes to racing on freeway at high speed, it is still no match for my old Ford Tbird V8 or other older muscle car.
My only complain about the Escape would be the weak torque.
