- easy to drive
- gas mielage, hard to see when backing up
Purchased As New
I have the 6 cylindar and it only gets 16 miles to the gallon in the city which to me is a bummer with the price of gas today. I bought mine brand new as a left over in 2008 The only other issue I have is that it is hard to see when backing up. Overall I like it, a good fit for me, I got the leather seats, tow bar, sun roof and running boards. Of course after I drive my Mother's Lexus it does feel like a truck.........read morehide

- Good economy, nice handling, comfortable all around
- A bit mushy in acceleration, but it's only a 2.3!
Had the Escape for a week. WAY COOL!
I took "Him" for a spin in the 4x4 recreational area and I was surprised! I did not think the Escape could make it uphill (Had a friend with a "Big Boy Bronco"... just in case). Not needed.
The Escape is surefooted, really smooth on asphalt and has a great grip on dirt.
Thanks to the independent suspensions, you can go in fairly rough terrain (Didn't want to break the new toy) with ease, and knowing that the 4x4 will not let you down.
Overall VERY satisfied, the only thing that is missing is a dual speed transfer case (But in the majority of cases... it's not needed)
Great car....read morehide

- Excellent design; drives smooth
- Computer controls 4WD, not the driver
Like my Escape very much. Drives nice w/ good maneuverability (sp). I have the 4 cyl engine. If you are into quick acceleration, then you'll need the V6.Overall, I am VERY satisfied.

- Great ride; easy to drive; 30MPG; quiet; fits into tight parking
Having driven a small Toyota car for 12 years, I wanted a small SUV with good mileage and was still affordable. Frankly, I'd never owned an American car before and I'd heard all the jokes about Ford (F.ound O.n R.oad D.ead) and so forth. But 2 friends of ours had an Escape and said they loved it, so I bought one too. I've had my 2006 Escape for a year and it's been a joy. Drives like a car, great gas mileage and reliable as can be. The negative remarks about Ford products seems not to square with reality. This Escape is a pleasure and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a slightly bigger car, but not a moneter like an Expeditition. A great small SUV!...read morehide
