- Great fuel economy, very reliable, great handling

I love my Escape! I have had no issues with it and I enjoy any driving I do in it. I went from a 2001 Explorer to the Escape, and love the handling of the Escape over the Explorer. I have the 4 cylinder Fwd, and it has enough pick up and go for me. I get around 24 mpg with all city driving and couldn't be happier....read morehide

I had a 2010 Ford Explorer and was really tired of spending SO much on gas so after having it just 5 months I traded it in for a 2010 Ford Escape XLT 6 cyl. I cannot tell you what a joy it is to drive this suv! It handles better than the explorer and the gas mileage is awesome! I was used to 15 mpg and I recently took a trip and I was getting 31 mpg with a 6 cyl! (According to my gage and the cruise was on 65 the whole way.) The back seat middle head rest does get in the way a bit but after awhile you get used to it and it doesn't bother you anymore..I love this suv so much!!! So glad I got rid of my Explorer!...read morehide

My Escape has been a pleasure to won. First month drove it 3k miles for a family trip and averaged 23 mpg and very smoothe ride. Love the sync as well as the space in the back for luggage and beach junk

These autos are not worth $21,000. These autos came out in 2010 6 to 8 thousand dollars over what they are worth. When you drive them off the lot they are not worth $15,000 which is what the original price new should of been. All of the autos are way over priced and 6 months later they are not worth half of what you paid for them. This is because they are way over priced to begin with....read morehide

- Pros
- Decent mileage, fun to drive, great on snow and ice
- Cons
- Pricey fully loaded

I've had my Escape V6 for a year as of 1/1/11. It's great on snow and ice, which is the main reason I bought it and it hasn't failed me at all yet in Colorado. Got an decent price at invoice. The V6 is the way to go for the weight. I test drove the 4 cyl and barely could accelerate to merge on the interstate. Great the first oil change is 15,000 however, my dealer gives free oil changes anyway for every 3,000 for the first year or two. The backseat middle headrest is in the line of sight, so I took it out. The rear storage area holds alot for s small size.
Did get a recall for some transmission programming after the first few months. And initially I had problems with braking for the first few months. When starting the car up cold and backing out, the brakes would hardly stop the vehicle until I pressed hard to the floor. This happened off and on a few times. The dealer had never experienced this problem and verified it with out brand new vehicles sitting on the lot with the same issue. Haven't had that in a long time, I hope its stopped. Their answer was to just let the car idle for a few minutes when I crank it cold.
It's a bit loud sometimes but I think it's more based on the road surface than the car engine etc and tires.
The Sync is fun and works well with the Bluetooth. The map directions were annoying so I bought a Garmin. Anytime you went off route it had to dial back in and download, which is what it is supposed to do but takes too long if you are driving and trying to find your way.
The side mirrors take some getting used to, but it's great to have the inset mirror. Would also be nice if both front seats were powered in the XLT and if they had a memory function.
The Sirrius will spoil you...be warned....read morehide5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

- Cons
- VERY unreliable......

I purchased this car NEW. After 10 days, my car was in the shop for the first time. So far my car has accumulated 20 days of being IN the shop for repairs.....and still counting. They have had to replace my fuel pump 3 times, my instrument cluster 2 times. My transmission doesn't shift properly, I have put it in for that once and the problem is still not fixed. This past weekend I went on a trip 4 hours away and my car came to a dead stop ON THE INTERSTATE!!!! We could have been killed!!! I had to wait an hour and a half for roadside assistance. They towed my car to the dealership there. I had to pay someone to come and pick me up and take me home. They have tried 3 parts and so far have no corrected this problem. They didn't want to give me a rental car, after a lot of arguing I got the rental car. Now they want me to drive 4 hours back down there to get my car instead of them bringing it back for me.....thats IF they can fix my car. I complained to ford and they were VERY rude, they did not care about the situation and the seriousness of it. I want them to purchase my vehicle back. I am working on the lemon law process, hopefully they will top out the 30 day repair time and they will have to purchase it back. Ford customer service sucks and I would NEVER recommend this car to ANYONE!!!!!!!!...read morehide

- too noisy..instrument panel needs redesigned

the vehicle is noisy...the info center is located beneath the steering wheel..you have to lean forward to see the info center....the readout for the compass, temp, and radio can't be seen in the daylight...it isn't bright enough and it sets too high up on the instrument panel...the engineer who designed this insturment panel must have slept thru his ergonomics classes...he missed the boat on this vehicle......read morehide
