Purchased As New
The 2012 Escape XLT FWD, equipped with the 2.4 Liter I4 engine has more than adequate acceleration with the 6 speed transmission. The ride comfort for long road trips for front seat passengers is comfortable, the rear seat up right seats could have used a little more angle to accomadate adult comfort. However, with younger children the back seat was more than comfortable for children. No problems with agility in handling and breaking for the 2WD XLT equipped with standard 4 wheel anti-lock breaks abd advancetrac w/RSC, sedan like handling even during inclement weather i.e.; heavy rain, snow covered roads to include roads iced over. Fit and finish is above average and controls are conveniently placed. Realiabilty has been above average. The truck like front end appearance keeps this year vehicle apart from the new car like front end design of a focus.
