The 2003 Ford Expedition gives a choice of many trim levels and mechanical configuration. However no matter what you choose, The Ford Expedition is overall a very nice SUV, and a good one for the things people use SUV's for, like towing, hauling cargo, passenger carrying, and even those "to the grocery store run abouts". The Ford Expedition comes with a standard 4.6L Trition v8 engine for those who want v8 power with better fuel economy. Even with the 4.6, you still get a decent towing capacity, and decent acceleration and highway passing when fully loaded. But for those who will tow with there Expedition, some amount of lbs. that is more than 5,000, and can stand the constant downshifts when towing, they need the optional 5.4L v8. This engine is a beast. Even towing 8,500 lbs of boat, the truck never downshifts when going up hills and steep grades. Highway passing time is OUTSTANDING. This engine only gets about 2 numerical figures lower in the gas mileage category, but that nothing if you are looking at how much this engine offers over the standard 4.6L. This truck also rides like it isn't even touching the ground. It rides like a beauty. This truck has better occupancy comfortability reviews compared to the yukon, tahoe, durango and even escalade. Reliabilty is good too. Tune up is required every 100,000 miles and oil change every 5,000. Won't have to worry about replacing a engine or transmission because they are BULLETPROOF. I would surely recommend this SUV over a tahoe anyday....read morehide
