- Plenty of room and comfort
We have two Sports, a 98 with 130,000 miles and a 02 with 60,000. These are great little trucks. We have had no problems at all with the 98. The only thing we have done is brakes at 120,000. The 02 has had an AC replacement, a cooling system replacement, the clutch cylinders replaced and the mass air sensor, intake, and exhaust system replaced...all under warranty, and no cost. We love these things! They are real trucks, and not some little car on steroids. We kayak and can carry all our gear, and sea kayaks and still have room ....read morehide

- Low cost to maintain.
- Need to start making the sport model again (2 door)
We currently have a 2001 Explorer XLT Sport. So far nothing has gone bad and it is very nice ridding and verry spacious considering that i am 6'3" and have no problem and we show rabbits and have to fold one seat down and i have plenty of room. Our last three SUV's have been explorers we had a 1992 explorer sport XLT and a 1996 explorer sport XLT and we have been plased with them all we had to put no oney in any of them so far. We are verry pleased with our 2001 and have noticed improvments that make them even better than they are. I would never buy any SUV but an explorer again they are awesome SUV's!...read morehide

- Looks Nice. Better paint than GM
- Too many to list
The craftsmanship on this Vehicle is horrible! I know why people buy foreign cars now. Like many I try to support my Country but for now on cars won't be one area where I do. The first day I brought it home there was a horrible rattle which we soon found out (the foam insulation under the headliner was never installed). O.k. then the passenger side airbag cover has a huge gap on one side which looks terrible. Ford won't do anything about this. And there are countless other interior problems. The front seat is already coming apart on the side and were small people. Lets see if they replace it, I'm guessing no. So lets move to the mechanics of the truck. The engine is loud so I guess that means it works. THe ride is average and the interior space is nice. But bottom line this truck is not worth $30,000! If I spent $15,000 I wouldn't being felling so bad, but I spent $30,000! So I feel bad. Trade in value is only $14,500 and its a 2003 bought in 2004. Bottom line truck is horrible. Buy a Toyota or Honda or BMW or you know what I mean........read morehide
