- Versatility! Many, many, uses!
- Fuel economy worse than expected, no room between seat controls & door panel!
It's versatility can't be beat! You can haul stuff covered, uncovered, long stuff, short stuff, way cool truck. My only concerns were 2 items:
#1--fuel economy not that great but what SUV/Truck is?
#2--room between the door and the seat controls--I have very small hands & I gotta say every time I try and adjust the seat I hit the seat warmer or just get my hand squished up between the 2. Ford was definitely smoking something when they tested that out, lol!
I traded a 2000 Explorer V8 and this truck isn't quite as peppy on the start but it has TONS of open road power & a WAY better ride! If Ford offered this in a small V8 and addressed the door space issue I'd give it a 100% score.
As for 4X4 off roading--this truck was superior to most 4X4's I've owned or driven. We had it in DEEP sand off Oregon Inlet, NC and while we saw numerous full sized Chevy's and Nissan's stuck, we drove thru without even a tire spin! VERY Impressive!...read morehide

- roomy back seat
- poor gas milage
I bought this new in October, have had to take it back to the shop three times. Twice it had to be towed. Each time it was there for a week.It has electrical problems. They can't find where it's coming from.Ford is NO help. They more or less said, you bought it, your stuck with it. I'm so sorry I traded my F-150 for it....read morehide

- 20.2 on highway running speed limit
- replaced brakes at 45,000, replaced ball joints in front end at 51,000.
running boards started to rust at 52,000 and I had them sanded and cover with a spray bedliner (limeX). Ford needs to work on their quality. I am very disappointed with the value for my $30,000.00. Fluid pump was replaced at 12,000. Brakes replaced at 45,000 at my cost. Ball joints in front end was replaced at 51,000 at my cost and repaired running boards at 52,000 at my cost. Ford extented warrenty is worthless. I will not buy an extended warrenty in the future. My next truck will be a foreign made, I am leaving American made for the above reasons. This truck was only driven on payed streets, never off the road....read morehide
