2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac User Reviews
Limited 4.6L 4X2 shown
- $15,955 - $18,689
- I love this truck. It's perfect for anything that you need to do.
- Nothing to complain about
Purchased As New
This truck is great. I had a '02 Trac and then went to a F150 which was just to much gas for me and my family, I mean I'm only a SSG in the Army. This truck is good on gas and the comfort is unbelievable. I've got the works on my Sport Trac to include the SNYC system in side and it is wonderful. I would recommend one of these to everyone that I come accross....read morehide

- Drive handling, 6 disc CD, Leather seats (comfort), Sunroof, Fuel MPG not bad for an SUV/Truck
- Wish the stereo sound system was a little better; also air vents cannot be fully closed
Bought the Limited on 31 December and drove it from Savannah GA to Tampa Fl and back, and may I say it handled awesome! I got it up to 21 mpg. It has awesome power for a V6 and makes great turns when parking ect. It took me a while but I finally figured out how to use the MP3 option. The kids did great on the long trip also. Leather helps improve the comfort of long drives. Oh, the engine is super quiet on the hwy. Oh, one thing about the stereo system is that you can set it up to when you accelerate on the hwy the volume increases to level off you so you don't have to continuously turn the volume up and down. Pretty cool. Get this truck with a Tonnuea cover. It is like having an extra large trunk....read morehide

- I get 22mpg on the highway, this 'adrenlin' model get great looks from people.
- A little more inside storage would be nice for GPS, PC and phone
This Adrenlin model was compared against the Tundra and Avalanche.
As for fit and function a great choice for a SUV-Pickup vehicle that offers flexibility with a sexy look.
The verstality for me to use as truck and ease of an SUV for the family.
I like it, my dog likes it and the family thinks I am cool.
Thank you McMahon Ford for allowing me to be 'hip' again...read morehide

- A beautiful truck inside and out. Love the ride stability and comfort. Handles very good
- Gas mileage is a bit high for a smaller truck. Average about 13MPG
This is my first sport trac and I bought it off the showroom floor completely loaded. Only option I did not get was the DVD entertainment package. I love the leather seats as they are so easy to keep clean. The overall look of this truck blows the competitors away. I will never own another vehicle if it is not a sport trac. I am very happy with this truck....read morehide

- Sporty, Quiet, Excellent Ride and Comfort, Easy to Drive, Great V8
- Wish gas mileage was better for a small truck, a bit pricey!!
I am on my 2nd new generation Sport Trac and would own nothing else. It rides and handles like a car, but has the versatility of a SUV/Truck. It is easy to park, drives wonderfully, is incredibily quiet, and the V8 sends it down the road easily. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned!!!

- Great utility, and the comfort of the Explorer
- Likes gas, but can be expected weighing about 2 tons
Bought the unit to eliminate one. Now use the Sportrac for both passenger and truck vehicle. With the individual each wheel suspension it rides and handles like an Explorer--better weight distribution than a pickup with a light rear end.
Two full seats for passengers, and a 5 foot bed. Lots of storage boxes and hooks for tie-downs. Bed has nice plastic liner.
A beefy vehicle that handles like a nimble smaller car. Like the keypad feature--eliminates the annoying business of keeping tabs on keys. V6 motor does it all well.
$4.00 gas is a bite. But need the umph and weight when I hook it to my trailer to transport the mower!!
Love the satelite radio!!!...read morehide

- great power, i get good looks, and a great warranty
- ride is a bit stiff
a fun truck to drive, and great quality. i was skeptical buying it because of the gas costing as much as my car payment, but it is well worth it.

- Over all econommy=15.095 per Gallon
- Ride is hard as a truck is. The seat belts rattle and the tach and speedometer are very hard to see
I bought the Sport Trac so I could tow a trailer, but U-Hall will not rent a trailer to any Explorer type vehicle, what a disappointment a $30,000 vehicle that I cannot tow a U-Hall trailer behind. As far as I know U-Hall is the only nation wide company that rents trailers. No where did I find anything saying that I could not tow a U-Hall trailer behind my Sport Trac or did my dealer say anything to me about the problem, I even put the best trailer hitch on my new Sport Trac. WHAT A BIG DISAPOINTMENT. Now at 25,000 miles my catalytic converter went out, its under warranty but how long will the replacement last....read morehide

- What a TRUCK! or is it a car? Its one awesome vehicle! Power plus options is great!
- Not enough storage inside. Needs the back up sensors.
This 2008 black truck is one fine truck. We bought the Limited with the V-8 and gosh its fun to drive. Best vehicle we have had in years. Average 18.8 MPG on last trip. Lots of power and the same gas milage as the weak V-6. Stereo is much better than other Fords we have owned. Very comfortable for adults in front and back. Love the sunroof and the back window that goes down. Its like driving a sports car!...read morehide

- 292 hp V8, 6 ton towing capability, convenient truck bed, SUV like cabin, excellent 4x4 handling
- Gas will murder you
Unlike other small trucks, the Sport Trac has a nice V8, pleasing capabilities, rugged truck bed, advanced 4x4 handling, and still gives you the feeling of an SUV.
The only thing I hate about the Sport Trac is the dissapointing gas mileage.
