2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

- Great utility, and the comfort of the Explorer
- Likes gas, but can be expected weighing about 2 tons
Bought the unit to eliminate one. Now use the Sportrac for both passenger and truck vehicle. With the individual each wheel suspension it rides and handles like an Explorer--better weight distribution than a pickup with a light rear end.
Two full seats for passengers, and a 5 foot bed. Lots of storage boxes and hooks for tie-downs. Bed has nice plastic liner.
A beefy vehicle that handles like a nimble smaller car. Like the keypad feature--eliminates the annoying business of keeping tabs on keys. V6 motor does it all well.
$4.00 gas is a bite. But need the umph and weight when I hook it to my trailer to transport the mower!!
Love the satelite radio!!!...read morehide

- Utility, Lots of room, good looks, nice extra touches, inexpensive to own.
- Wish you could still get a 5 speed, a little more power from the V6 would be nice.
First Sport-Trac I owned was a 2002, put 100k miles on it without a single problem, not a one. Just traded for an '08. Same great utility and room, but now with much better ride and handling. It is a lot of truck with a lot of nice features for the money. It looks much better than a 4-door Nissan or Toyota.....like it was meant to have for doors, the others simply look like an extra door was welded on,....awkward so to say. Fuel milage is decent with the V6, but not outstanding, but then again nothing in this catagory is much better. The V6 in this version is rated about the same as the 2002, but feels a little stronger and more refined, still it could use a few more HP to keep it even with the competition. All in all the very few shortcomings it has don't even come close to diminishing all the pros. Great SUV/truck!...read morehide
