I've owned my 4WD XLT for 5 months now. It has exceeded my expectations in several ways, and it's the first vehicle I've owned I truly love.
Appearance - You can gauge this for yourself, if you like it you do, if not, don't buy one. The interior is sharp, and the materials all look and feel like high end pieces. Nothing cheap or plastic about it.
Comfort - The highway ride is smooth like a suburban. It doesn't drive like a car, but it's not a car. It doesn't drive like an old explorer where you feel as though you're going to tip on a fast corner. It can get in and out of a turn as quick as you want it to.
Performance - Generally happy with the performance. It lags occasionally, but in general it gets me past people in a smooth and efficient way when they're in sight-seeing mode. Also, I'd like to mention that I've managed 25.5 mpg on trips of about 300 miles highway driving. This is far better than advertised, and has to be tops or near-tops for a 7 passenger SUV. Strictly city driving (with traffic) comes in at about 21.5 mpg.
Value - It is expensive, but all SUVs are. In this case the demand has kept the price high for the duration of the 2011 model year. If you can't afford to 'keep up with the Joneses, wait until next year when the demand slows, and hope for a good incentive.
