Purchased As Not Purchased
My wife worked at Ford so we test drove the Explorer when they first arrived. It was great as far as handling, comfort, and enough power to tow at least a boat or small trailer. However, Ford is killing off all their manual offerings and for a lot less money we purchased exactly what we wanted / needed in a vehicle...a Subaru Outback. It was $21,000 vs $32,000, manual, tows enough for our needs, and the best parts..AWD and gets 31 mpg hwy/ 28 city! We loved the Explorer, but the price and lack of a manual option is why we don't own one.
