Purchased As New
I have owned my Explorer for 11 months and am working to return it to Ford. After multiple trips to Ford to "repair" my Sync with no resolve I am finished. I have received all the updates, had the APIN module replaced with the 4th generation replacement part and all to no avail.
My issues relate to Navigation that will not engage, the phone function that cuts off the radio function despite not being on the phone, radio that does not turn off even when the vehicle is in the off position, the entire screen going blank, backup camera that will not turn off even when in drive and moving forward....the only reliable function is the climate control.
I was attracted to all the options for the price, but if you are unable to use them, it does no good. I fear for my trade in value if kept and cannot afford the ongoing repairs once the warrany expires and I have to rely on my own budget to make repairs to a system that was not ready for release.
I wish I had waited a few years for the technology to develop further. I encourage you to do the same.
