- The handling, smooth 5-speed, fuel economy and the solid body feel.
- Some parts like the seat adjustment knobs and door handles are cheap plastic.
Purchased As New
I bought the Fiesta new and the longer I own it the more I love it. I really appreciate the solid body feel and the handling. This car goes where you steer it and can turn on dime. A make or break issue with me was going to be the 5-speed manual. Several years ago I owned a 2001 Focus and I hated the 5-speed manual because it felt so clunky and cheap. The Fiesta’s 5-speed is smooth and has an un-American feel that reminds me of an old 89 Acura Inegra I used to love driving. The Fiesta is not as powerful but it feels to be of equal quality. My only real complaints are the door handles and the seat adjustment knobs are such poor quality plastic it reminds you that the Fiesta is a lower priced car. This is unfortunate due to being such an easy fix and I can’t find any after market kits to upgrade the interior. I would have paid more for higher quality plastic or God forbid metal. I took a star away for appearance due to these cheap parts but I have had no reliability issues with the parts or the car. Also, a leather wrapped steering wheel should be standard. However, these traits do not take away (much) from everything else I love about this car and I paid $15K for a very well equipped car with heated seats and a sun roof. All in all I would highly recommend this car to anybody that wants a solid, fun to drive car with great fuel economy.
